The lakepolice are trying to make laws at my home lake that suck bigtime. They are gonna complete ruin my whole next riding season. They are proposing that PWC's can only be aloud on the lake on certain days, that many parts of the lake will be restricted to PWC's, and that they will raise the age for operating a PWC to 16, and I'm only 15 so ill be screwed. I will be serously pissed off if they make these laws. Cussing

Do any of ya'll have jet ski restrictions on ya'lls lake?

marshk344, dude all you have to do is take a boaters ed class. you can take it online, do a home study, or go to a classroom. i highly suggest it. I got mine when i was 14 and id go out fishin in my uncles boat by myself.

Yea I know I've had my liscence since I was 13, but they're sayin possibly you might have to have your drivers liscence to operate a jet ski. I'm mianly mad about the other crap, but like me and some guys i wakeskate with are goin to the meeting on monday and statin our cases.

In Canada the age restriction for PWC's is 16...it's been like that for awhile now, regardless of whether you have your liscence or not.

during the school year, minors aren't aloud to drive boats/pwc's alone on weekdays during school hours Neutral

Our local lake doesnt allow people to be towed behind a PWC.

ya i live on a river and i love it because eve if the wind is blowin' there is always a nice place to ride untill manatee county had to mess it up. now almost the whole river is no wake zone so for now were still ridin on it but i dont know how long that will last! Also i saw some cops eyin our rails i think they might try to pull em out Crying or Very sad

yea thank god they havnt messed with the st. johns/ortega too much... the river is way too big for anyone to enforce any rules even if there are any... and there is always a place to hide your rails in a cut in the woods... all wakeskaters should move over here to jacksonville, that would solve your police proble, plus it sux that i never see fellow wakeskaters out there... its all fat guys on jetskis tearin up my water or massivly expensive wakeboard boats...

It all varies from Nation to Nation..State to State...County to County ad infinitum. Go to the meetings with as large ( knowledgable ) well spoken group. The title here is correct. It is discrimantory to mandate against one group (pwc, etc) without affecting another(fisherfolk) pleasure boating ( if there is such a thing). Just don't go in screaming unfair!!!! Concessions can be made & rules ( ugh ) somewhat equitable. Good luck & have fun, as nothing will stop wakeskating, it may simply be a little more difficult to find a place to ride. Cool
