I would like your opinion. I have the chance to buy an 05 Cassette 4
Trac 41" fairly cheap, is in mint condition. It was a sample boardfor a rep, going for $100 plus shipping. The dimensions are here:
DIMENSIONS:
Nose=12.25"
Mid=15.38"
Tail=11.50"
Rocker=2.00"
I am 6' 4" 225 lbs, and currently ride a HL Scape 116" I have not ridden it many times, and basically my skills are hitting ollies, riding switch, lipslides. I am wanting to progress into shuvits, etc.
Does this sound like a decent buy for me? I wear size 14 shoe, and I feel that a wide concave board like this, with grip tape would help me progress a little better.
Thanks for your opinions!

The 4-trac is a 42 and being 6'4" & 225 it might be too small for you. But you might want to grab it for that price and if you dont like it, you can try and resell it.

Vampyre, that is the sickest board I've ever ridden. I am riding now my 2nd one, and it is holding up very well. It is very wide, 41" is a little short for someone your size. I would go with something 43".
I am 5'10"and 165. It is a great board though, good luck homeslice.

hmmm...
damn.
I just measured my Scape, and it is 45 inches, following the concavity. So, the 4 inches will make that big of a difference?
If it matters, I ride a CWB Absolute 141 for my wakeboard..
Ok, I guess am i just WANTING it, but will have to ponder the size issue.
DAMN..
Thanks guys!

Vampyre, You should get something like a catalyst because of the size. Actually, any hype board, since most of them are over 42" and from what I hear the composites have a lot of float. If you want a wood, I would recommend an LF Control or Impulse (43").

You hear so many people rave about the 2003 green 4-track, what is the difference between 2003 and later models?

| Well, I am not in the market so much that I want to spend a lot of money, but $100 sure sounds like a deal. I am fairly certain I would be able to get my money back from it no problem.

actually, in 05 the 4 trac came in a 41 and a 42, so its likely it is a 41...
and at this point, I think people rage about the 03 4 trac because of the graphics. at least, that's based on what people have said on here, as in I want one to hang on my wall, etc.

I have both and I wanted to hang the 03 on my wall; but I couldn't. I had to ride it, everyone who rides it loves it. How do you get a board that awesome and never ride it
The differences, the 03 most people like it because it is the only green board. The paint is such a cool color. The 03 is a 42" the 05 is 41 or 42, but they are so different when you examine them closely. They ride quite differently also. You would think the nose of the 42" would be bigger than the 41" or at least the same. However the 41" has a much wider nose and rides with more control.
The 03 has a beveled rail that digs in a lot more when you edge. The nose is not as wide on the 03 as the 05. The corners are much more rounded on the 03, the 05 has pointed corners that I really like. Good luck!

furious respect to coricluster for helping restore her. much love to tampajimmie for hooking me up with the deck. It came to me a blank black 03 42" cassette 4-trac, where he got it, I still am curious.
here she is, the one and only
