Core or Corpo?¿?

I was discussing this today with a wakeskating friend. To me the answer to this question is easy, but I wanna know what you think. Is it better for a company to be core and start from scratch but not have a lot of money? or a company to come from a non wakeskating background and throw money around just to start a company?

Me? I think its dope for people to take a risk and try to create something based on a sport and lifestyle they love. Therefore, I choose core.

core companies fa sho, they know more about their sport than noncore companies, threfore they can push it farther. ex., cassette: bilevel=innovative, hyperlite: the gate=not only not innovative, but horrible. hope that helps.

If you just jump into wakeskating and start throwing money around your not in it for anything but money. ANd if you do this your a idiot. There is hardly anymoney in wakeskating right now. I would say with the exception of the kent sports company's most everyone who makes wakeskates is in it for wakeskating not for money. (sattelyte, distortion, omen, integ.....)

So my answer is this mr barf in the middle of the club. Wink

Wakeskates made with heart, will always be better then skates that came from a rich momy and dady, or anyother crap like that.

Anyone wanting quality products will always end up buying core, unless they are idiots and/or gluttons for punishment, in which case they deserve it.

Headhuntermx4, that is exactly right. I have been on the other end of that conversation so many times it is crazy.
I know first hand the time and effort but it is still worth it for that time on the water and the people you meet.
As an owner of a wakeskate company there is nothing more that I would like to do than spend a bunch of cash sending my riders everywhere and hooking them up more. It really doesn't matter if I ever make a cent being involved in wakeskating.

Yes, it is the beginning of a 4 day weekend, and yes I am 3 sheets to wind. I apologize for being overly emotional, but like my counter part PIRATE, I like to drink, and I can’t help but wear my heart on my sleeve (***inside joke***).

I wasn’t until I read this entire thread that I realized my stance on this issue: “Core or Corpo?¿?” Ironically, it had nothing to do with what was said but rather who said it………

My point is…when you put your heart and soul into something you love, you can’t help but meet a lot of great like-minded people. I have crossed paths with pretty much everyone who has posted on this thread (in one way or the other). Had I not supported a grass-roots company, I doubt I would have done so…….

So to Parky, Keaton, Chad, Jeff, Erich, Brandon, Evan and everyone else, I have no idea where wakeskating is going to be in the next 5 years, and I have no idea which companies are going to last and which are not. But I think that it is important to remember that grass-roots movements are always about the people. That is why I support core.

Therefore, I raise my glass to the brethren who support core!!
