heres the new sattelyte graphics.
I would say new for 06 but, coming out with a board for "06" is gay, sattelyte is just going to pump out skates, there's not really a 06 line or a 07 line, Its going to be like hey. we got a new board design and its forsale, yeah we know its the middle of july, and We know we just released a new board last week. Heres another. Deal with it.
No hype, No greed, No lies, just skates. by people who love to skate for people who love to skate.

those are pretty damn keeeewl!
they made a deck in '03 (i think... maybe '04) that had a simple yet SWEET look.. that's the one that plus the whole can. maple thing made me want one from that point on... i would have started w/ it instead of the 4 trac... but it seemed like there was a lot of good hype about the 4 trac when i bought it... and i have to say i no complaints... it can do a lot more than i can

Thats prob an '03 or an 04 prototype. The two at the right end are pretty much the 04 decks. One of them looks cut down shorter. They were great boards, very solid. I still have an ungripped one that is for sale if anyone needs a great flat deck. _________________ Sattelyte Wakeskates

here's the article w/ the picture for those decks... a review
Write-up by Gavin Jocius, Director of Marketing, Sattelyte Wakeskates
I guess one could make the argument that sending an employee from Sattelyte Wakeskates to demo other wakeskates is a bit unfair. This is true. However, I went into the Stokecity demo being as objective as I could be. I was very interested in how each board would ride, and I gave each ride the benefit of the doubt. As someone who has studied economics, I can appreciate a value of competition. Above all else, Sattelyte is interested in the growth of the sport of wakeskating, and as any half-ass economist will tell you, competition leads towards the best product. So, we welcome other companies with open arms because we know that, the more companies out there, the better our sport will become ---- believe it!
Sattelyte brought out 4 boards to test, two 2004 boards (The Tor and The Team) and two prototypes (Mr. Stubbs and The Finless). Below is my critique for each board I rode. Please also check out stokecity.ca for their critiques, which will be more in-depth and better than mine.
Olive. The Olive board was the one deck I was most interested in riding. The board is a flat-deck with a continuous rock, but what makes it stand out is its weight. The board is extremely light. When you stand on it, it has the flex of a snowboard. So, I was a bit skeptical when I first got on it. Truth be told, however, I enjoyed riding it. If you are into buttering, shove-its and kickflips, you will want to buy this board. The downside of this board, for me, was wake-to-wakes. The board is so light that it almost flies away under your feet. I guess that if you could get comfortable with the weight of this board on wake-to-wakes, it will be a good board.
Integrity Tolstoy. I have to say that I really enjoyed this board. I like the width and I like the 3 stag-rocker. This board has great pop! All around, this is a great board. The only problem is that it's not wood. I like riding wood.
Cassette. What can you say about Cassette decks that hasn't already been said? I like their boards. If I were to buy one, I'd need to buy something wide so my feet don't catch.
Tractor Beam. I rode this board. It doesn't have much of a rocker to it. They put some glue on the edges of the grip tape or something, which is a good idea. I'm sure that you can do some cool things with this board, I just wasn't feeling it.
Sattelyte's Mr. Stubbs. Mr.Stubbs is a dirty little man. He is tiny, fat, heavy and has very little rocker. He is not meant to be rode behind a boat with. He is meant to be ridden in the streets on any little jib that you can find. Stubbs is a poor man's board.
Sattelyte's The Tor. This particular Tor had a crazy top-sheet grip job. I grip job helps you find the board when you bail. This board is good, but it is too short for me.
Sattelyte's The Team. I own this board. It's a great board. It is probably the best wake-to-wake board I've ever ridden. It sticks to your feet, and you feel comfortable in the air with it. For the price, it is a fantastic board. The only downside is that it is heavy. It has a 9-ply continuous rocker built with hardrock Canadian Maple. So, it is just about indestructible. When you hold it, it feels heavy, but once you start riding, you don't notice the weight. You can still butter and shove-it this board; it just does not have the same pop as a 3-stage Tolstoy. If you are a burley rider who likes to blast big airs, this is the board for you.
In conclusion, there are tons of decks out there that suit any riding style. The key is to find your style and make your purchases accordingly. |

WARLOCK.....Thanks for posting that. It brought back some good memories. I got so drunk that day. Emily had to drive me home.....it was awesome.
That board in the middle was a prototype...."the Finless" If you look close, you can see it has little channels on the base. Some of our team riders rode that deck and determined that the channels were kind of useless, so we did not move forward with it.
The 04 "Tor" is basically a Finless without the channels. It was a good deck. We don't make them anymore.
As for Mr.Stubbs (second from the right). . . we thought that their might be a market Niche for an urban jib board, but we did not get much of a response, so it was hard to justify production of such a novelty deck. However, we do have them, and if someone wants to custom order one, we can do that....

yoyo....
All 06 deck are 3-Stage. We don't really use the continuous mold anymore, eventhough I liked those decks the best....
As for 3-stage rocker lines, I assume you mean..... are their obvious distinct lines visible on the boards???? Not really! The only visible lines are the pinstripes on the graphics.
Pinstripes are cool. I love to wear Pinstripes suits. I wore one to a meeting in NYC once, and one of our Jackass sales guys said that the suit looked like one his Grandfather would wear. I really wanted to put some visible lines across his face after that wise-crack . . . thankfully, for the sake of my job, I did not....... _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |
