Quit my job today

Tired of the Bull shti. I hadnt got a raise in 1.5 years, was making $8 an hour and driving a 100 mile round trip to work every day. F that.

I already got a new job lined up, same field (Electrician). Now I'll be making $10 an hour, and working in my own city. So now I have about a 5 minute drive to work instead of an hour and a half.

Also now I don't have to call in for Friday. Laughing

vance, you were getting paid 10 $ and hour? r u a licensed electrician? r u dun ur apprenticeship? maybe shyts diff. in canada but once your done your apprenticeship you start getting paid like 20 some odd bucks right off the start for begin an electrician in ontario.

Yea im finishing up the first year of my apprentice ship. When im done I should be at 16 an hour.

electricsnow, me too! sort of...i hope. i applied at a local ski hill to eb an snowboard instructor n i'd work in the shop too. i talked to the hiring guy n he said he cud most likely get me a job. its cool cus i get a free season pass n a cool blue coat.

Frawley, last year I worked at my local ski hill! I was actually a liftie. You did get benefits, like a "free" pass, but in order to get these "free" passes, you'd have to work at least 15 hours a week. In the end, it's almost more of a hassle than it was worth, because every time you wanted to ride, you'd have to go find a manager, have them sign a little ticket thing for you, and then you'd have to go to the ticket office, give them your signed ticket, and then get a lift pass. There were just a lot of hoops to jump through, so I'm just buying a pass. They're overpriced, but there are a lot of ammenities at that hill that we're paying for through those passes.

As for snowboard instructing, that's what I was going to do originally, until I found out they got paid per lesson. I'm a picky bastard...at least I'll be warm and toasty at the snowboard shop.
