Ok, I am ridding in my 1st grassroots tourny this coming sunday. There really is not that much talent in the group. I'll probably come in dead last, but my only chance of placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd is if the other ridders cannot stick their tricks.....................WARNING: This is a horrible trick list of mine, but maybe wit luck ill win.........

learn front lip frontside shuv it out, and body varials.

Shuvit720, just try and do tricks you know you can land, if you have a standup run theres no way you can get last. try some lip stuff too, like a fs lip or fs board.

if you ride finless wake-slides are nothing. i did a switch b/s lipslide to b/s 180 out first try. all you have to do is get good foot placement and keep your balance. that will prolly be a trick not too many other people will be doing....judges like that a lot.

im doing my first comp this weekend, and i dont even have w2w or fs shuvs like you. but i heard from the guy that runs it that the best riders barely do shuvits, so i think i will do ok. but i need to learn how to do rails the day before at practice because ive never done on before. goodluck

Shuvit720, dude you'll be fine. I dont care what anyone tells you in all honest at small comps people usually dont even land a shuv, I'de say that if you land a shuv youwould probably get like top 3 or something, Thats not to say that sometimes there arent really good riders at some local events but usually its not the case, Do as many b-s and f-s 180's as possible. Never stop doing tricks thats the key.

Make sure you have a big smile on your face. If you don't have a lot of tricks in your pocket, show them your having a good time. Throw some spray and lean it back, they'll love that stuff. Good luck!!

do alottta 180s and shuvs, differnt variasions and places. hs ts inside out... u know. mix it up.

Man i dont even think theres any comps around where i live, but now thaty i read this nest season i will try to enter like i started a month ago and i can quite a few tricks

after your 180's do backside surface 180s out instead of regular fs surface 180s, also manuals look pretty cool around turns and whatnot. try some surface 180-shuvs too

you really shouldnt be worried though if you dont do good noone will care or laugh at you, contests are for fun.

yah man, try some wakespins and stuff too, like ollie into a boardslide and do a 540 out, really easy and fun to do and watch. keep it fresh out there. g'luck

i dunno were the comps that pirate enter but... just playing, ull be fine, at the bliss comps theres this kid that enters em everytime just to have fun and im sorry but he sucks big time and mostly only gets to ride when he is at the comp and he has the time of his life, so go out and have fun
