What's the smallest motor you've used or heard of people using to skate? I have a dingy that I want to bring back to school with me so I can skate down there while the weather is nice. I want to be able to go at least 18-20mph and preferably more like 22mph. I've heard of people getting up behind 15 hp and even 9.9 I'm thinking 20-25 hp would work pretty well. I weigh around 170ish and the boat is a 12 ft aluminum pile of crap that we have at our cabin. let me now if you think I could go smaller, like 15 instead of 20-25hp.

ive done 9.9. and last week i tryed 6.5 on a hull that was way too heavy for even a 9.9. the boat wouldn't even plane off alone, but we plowed anyway for kicks.
