Call me a virgin if you like.......but I've yet to try wakeskating but I'm gonna make a board and give 'er a shot in the spring. From what I've read it seems that you don't need a $60,000 tournament boat with a fat wake! Is your typical old school outboard ski boat suffice? What size of wake do you want? How do you "read" your wake to ride the sweetspot? 19 - 21 mph? Any other info would be swell. |

MadMac,
You are correct. One of the great things about wakesakting is that you don't need a huge wake to have fun. There are plenty of tricks to do in the flats to keep you occupied for a long time. It is nice to hit a phat wake from time to time, but an outboard ski boat would have a plenty big enough wake to learn some wake to wake tricks. To find your wake's sweetspot, just experiment with it. Try to find a spot that doesn't wash out and isn't curling over. It isn't very difficult to do and I think you will find that out once you give it a try.
Hope you are able to get out on the water soon and officially get into wakeskating. |

just go buy a board they are only 100 dollars. Or buy a used one from someone. It will be worth it. Home would prob. ruin the sport for you. |
