Winter Park, FL – TransWorld WAKEBOARDING magazine will host its 9th annual Wake Awards ceremony, acknowledging and celebrating the accomplishments of the best wakeboarders and wakeskaters in the world on Sept 6th at Surf Expo in Orlando, FL.

“This year there has been more innovation and progression than ever,” said TransWorld WAKEBOARDING Content Editor Ben Greenwood. “Grabbed double flips, incredible wakeskate contests, and some seriously amazing videos have all been introduced this year, it will be a great night kicking off the beginning of Surf Expo. This is the best time of year for the industry to get together and applaude the efforts of world’s best wake athletes.”

Awards will be handed out to this year’s top performers in the following 15 categories: Best Wakeboarder, Best Womans Rider, Rail Master, Best Wake Park Rider, Best Wakeskater, the Legend Award, Photographer of the Year, the Check Out Award, Best Video, Best Video Performance Wakeboard and Wakeskate, Best Web Video, and the highly coveted Trick of the Year for Men, Women, and Wakeskate.

Last year’s top winners, included Harley Clifford for Best Wakeboarder, Amber Wing for Best Female Rider, Ben Horan for Best Wakeskater, and Tom Fooshee for Best Wake Park Rider.

The 2012 Wake Awards presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, is sponsored by Malibu Boats, Surf Expo, WSIA, and Sesitec System 2.0 will be held for attendees of Surf Expo and the Orange County Convention Center.
