Retention Finals Video Presented By Nike 6.0 Date: 09-04-2011
Ben Horan, Silas Thurman and Nike 6.0 really went above and beyond their latest wakeskate event we all know as the Retention pro/am.
Retention was different from the early 6.0 event, Raging Pull, in that it was a contest. But they still kept the amateur vibe alive and made the ams hungry with a qualifier and a chance to win some of the purse from the pro event.
I'm personally psyched on this event becuase it kind of has an old school skating vibe to it, in that when vert contests were dead, riders held their own events in their back yards to keep the vibe alive. By the sound of things, the Horan compound was perfect for just such an event. And despite the highs and lows in our economy and industry, people in wakeskating are working really hard to grow things and make wakeskating a viable option for the young up-and-commers.
Big thanks to Ben, Silas and Nike 6.0 for making this event happen, and media personalities including Tad Mathews and Ian Reed for creating an amazing piece of media to show all of us just what went down at Retention.

Nike 6.0's wakeskate team has been hitting the streets non stop for the last few years filming natural drops and spillways all over the world.
