"Afterdark" Wake Gallery Exhibit Presented By The Liquid Playground Date: 04-05-2011
As a collector of all things wake, it's always great to see other people who share that same appreciation. Austin Watts is one of those people. He's got a pretty amazing board collection himself, and his shop is the perfect place to display it all.
However, Austin is doing something a little bit different. Instead of just displaying his own collection of prints and boards, he's setting up a real gallery to display the prints from photographers like Josh Letchworth, Bryan Soderlind, Garrette Cortese, Joey Meddock, Jason Lee, Roland Lugo, Scott Alexander and Kyle Rowe. To add an extra punch, a number of riders are sending their actual boards to be displayed along the photos each photographer took.
Austin's first gallery event is called "Afterdark," and here's what you can expect from the event:
"I'd like to invite you all to celebrate my opening gallery exhibit "Afterdark", located in my new in-store art and exhibition space, located at 2144 Otoole ave in San Jose, CA. I've been pretty busy these past 2 months creating a small gallery space and wanted to share my first event with all of you. I'm ecstatic to share the work of some our industrie's top photographers and hopefully can get them some more exposure with this space.
The event will feature a collaboration of print media from Josh Letchworth, Bryan Soderlind, Garrett Cortese, Joey Meddock, Jason Lee, Roland Lugo, Scott Alexander and Kyle Rowe. Rodrigo Donoso and Riley Bangerter will be in attendance showing some amazing pieces and giving you the opportunity to meet two elite westcoast photographers.
The opening reception is open to the public and will take place Friday, April 22nd from 7:30-10pm. This event is free but we recommend a small donation that we will donate to the American Red Cross that will help support the disaster relief efforts to those affected by the earthquake in Japan.
