ThinkTank Wakeskate Jam 2009Alliance Magazine UK
ThinkTank Wakeskate Jam 2009 Announced
(For Immediate Release - 31/3/09)
ThinkTank is back.
After the unimaginable success of last Spring's casual get together of a dozen wakeskaters and some photographers in the midlands, Alliance Magazine has once again joined forces with Goodwood Wakeskates to bring the rodeo back to town.
We announced the dates a few weeks back (it's May 28-31 in case you missed it) but due to the expansion of the event we hadn't tied down a location that would work best for the event. But now we have, and we are excited to announce that Ten-80 near Birmingham will play host to Europe's most progressive wakeskate event to date.

Last year the whole concept for ThinkTank was to set up a photo shoot, but on an enormous scale. With custom built rails, a street-style stair set complete with hubba ledges and steel handrail, the UK's most promising water-dancers, cranes, floodlights and 3-days to pull it together at a secret location - it was pretty much a contest without judges. And that was for a reason; we wanted to create an atmosphere where the riders could hangout and ride with each other to take the sport in this country to the next level.
After receiving an astonishing amount of complaints about keeping the location secret and doing it all away from the public, we have taken note and are inviting you all to come and watch the magic for yourself at Ten-80. Not only that, but this year we are opening up the ranks to everyone, with an open qualifying day on Thursday May 28th. Entrants will get to ride the ThinkTank Jet Ski rail park which in addition to the trusty flatbar and incline rails will have some truly unique obstacles to hit, but we're keeping them secret for now. Each rider will have to impress with their rail skills, and the top 6 riders from qualifying will go on to ride the main event from Friday through Sunday, including the stair gap.

We're still not going to tell you everything, because then it wouldn't be as fun for us, but there will be lots more info as the weeks pass by so keep checking www.AllianceWake.co.uk.
Until then get down to the lake and start practicing on those rails.
