hey whats the law for open beers on a boat? does it vary from state to state or county to county... does the boat have to be parked if you have open beer or what... just wondering if i would be in trouble if i ran into a cop... thanks

eh the only law i know is that you are considered drunk, after you stop drinkin Wink

It differs in every state, but drinking on the water is usually allowed. BUT, the driver of the vessel must be sober. Otherwise they can get a DUI.

yeah, pretty sure you just can't be wasted if you are driving...at least in minnesota and Wisconsin

I know it makes you look a lot cooler if you can drive the boat and bong a beer at the same time, the cops dont like that one though

greg van wagnen, i was wondering what the law was... i dont really plan to drink too much on the boat any way... ive found that my wakeskating skill drops dramatically with every shot i take and every beer i bong...

last summer this was this huge boat crash on my lake infront of my dock...like theres was one of the huge speed boats goin down the lake about 31206123487563457861587456318745631489756139874561374856 miles like they always do Evil or Very Mad

, and then there was this wakeboard boat full of drunk teenagers comin out of a cove on the other side of the lake...oh yea and the people on the speed boat were drunk too...and well as the wakeboard boat came out of the cove it collided with the speed boat, and they hit so hard that the wakeboard boat flew all they over to my neighbors dock. and then my neihbors called 911, and this one guy almost died because because he lost so much blood...both boats were totaled and all cuz they were drunk, the lake police found like 3 bottles of empty vodka on both boats and tons of beer....sorry that was so long lol Smash

You can drink and drive just not be over the legal limit, and if a cop is a dick then your going to get a ticket or DUI, whether or not your under or over the legal limit. You can drink in the boat all you want only if your not driving the vessel. If the cop is cool, offer him a beer and he will tell you to switch drivers, but Ive yet to meet a cop like that. Thats the law in Florida, but the laws vary fom state to state.

hahah.... that reminded me of a story back in high school... a bunch of friends and myself skipped class and went to a buddy of mine's house and started drinkin alot... the girls ended up stripping and makin out with each other so we did what any guy would do... ordered pizza and more beer... when the pizza guy came 3 of the girls answered te door completely naked (also in the middle of the day)....the fat pizza guy almost passed out... it was crazy... at least until the guy whos house we were at's mom came home for lunch and caught a lot of shizzle goin on.... good memories Wink
