hey, new here... i just bought an 05' bi-level from some canadian wakeshop. I have heard and read a ton good and bad about the board. Any owners of a bi-level attempted to re-seal the deck. For that matter, the mounting hardware appears to be a poor design. On a regular skateboard, your trucks have rubber bushings to turn, but less obiously, they prevent vertical cracks from forming down the middle of the board. I am thinking of re-designing the hardware to prevent this damaging flex. What do you think... Someone let me know.

well on a skateboard it isn't the bushings, it's the soft risers that stop the vertical cracks (pressure cracks) on the board. So are you saying you want to make something similar to risers that would go in between the truck-like things on the bi? I don't think that there is too much of a use for anything like that because obviously the pressure put on skateboard decks is far greater than that which would be put on a wakeskate deck, being that with a skateboard, you pop and land on concrete, not water. With wakeskating there is the water that is more absorbant than any type of thing you could make for the board. Basically what i am trying to say is, you don't need to worry about pressure cracks.

I don't know if you should redesign it but you should definitely reseal it with a few coats of clear coat.

I have one and I'm on my third top deck, I haven't even ridden it because of it's fragility. I don't recommend resealing it because it's weight is already heavy. The riser idea is sticky. It will affect the fulcrum pop of the board. I would put it between the top deck and the truck. This will however widen the gap between the nose of the top deck and the nose of the bottom deck. These boards seem to be breaking from nose diving.....or a rush of water forcing the two decks apart and snapping the nose of the top deck. Good luck.

I recieved a board last January, broke it on my third run. Called to get a replacement right away and kept getting "we'll send it out next week." It's a year since I broke My bi-level, and I haven't recieved a new one. So with that, I'd say hang her on the wall to look pretty, it's an amazing ride until it breaks, but you could have spent your money better elsewhere.

I love Cassette, what they've done for the sport and everything. But I can't stand by these guys any longer.

The clear coat to re-seal the board will add a negligible amount of weight. If you do ride it, seal it.

I got my Bi-Level around July of last year and haven't had any problems with it, before it touched any water I sealed the shizzle out of it though. If your "prepare" it the right way before you ride it you'll be fine.

ya sam with Slyder, i broke mine in march and emailed over and over and got replies then the fguy i was talkin to got fired so he emailed me back saying he no longer works with cassette and i should talk to thomas. but yeah the guy iwas talkin to the whole time tried, i can tell he did bc he would email me what he emialed thomas. they ran out of my 42 hampson boards os he was gona send me a horrel or reed for my replacement then he said he would just send me an 06 when they came out but yeah so much for that.............

same thing with me, got waterlogged after like 2 rides, sent a fiznackling video of it absorbed with water, it looked like a zebra print when wet, was told he was sending one out right away when i had the owner of the shop i bought it from phone him, still havent seen anything...its been close to a year process now..... chickity china the chinese chicken CASSETTE

Cassette customer support was really fizzle up last year...

I broke 2 bi in a year, would have been 3 or 4 if I only rode that. If I were to skateboard as much as I wakeskate I know I would break at least 10-20 decks a year if not way more. So $$ wise it looks like I would spend more on my ride if I skated. So yeah sure compared to other skates bi levels break a lot, but it's not just like any other skate u know.

never re sealed mines but I know I probably should have. When I'm back home I will probably seal the bi I have left, only been ridden like once so it's still time hehe

Then I wouldn't worry about vertical cracks. They all broke the same way, either nose or tail snaped off. Its' not too much because of nose dives in my case. Just hard landinds/popings one after the other Smash
