Yea. So..... in actuality what kind of board would be best for a beginner...... is a promodel going to behave differently from a normal board? and what are normal prices for wakeskates?

Integ's are good for any rider of any skill. You could get a flat deck for around $100 but if you want a concave you'll have to pay $200-$300. Integs will last forever so it's probably worth the investment while flat wood boards will last only a season, maybe two.

There are lots of good boards out there from good companies.
Sattelyte
Integrity
Level 13
Liberation
Oak
Omen
Gator
etc.....

A good board depends on your size, and what you plan on doing with it (i.e. sliding no sliding.)

Or you could get a cheap wood flat or concave and seal it lots of times and it will last quite a while. I have an 03 484 concave and its still going strong and thats with hitting rails and w2w stuff, but I seal it every year. Its up to you and all decks ride differently (wood vs compression), so find one that you like best.

Yea my friends getting a new integ soon, so I'm gonna try that before I get one. So far though, it seems like everybody LOVES Integrity. I excpected a bit of variety in the responses. Is it just beacuse integs are so durable that everyone likes them or do they perform that much better?

Fish13, depends what YOU want. if you want a wood board. go with Oak or Sattelyte. I haven't heard much about Satt's new line up for 06 but I'm sure they woln't dissapoint, plus Satt's crew is suuuuper cool. And Oak. Well Oak is whats hot in wood right now. Solid company with a chill crew, and lots of good things have been coming out about them lately.

those are my 2 favorite companies right now.

but don't listen to me or anyone else. get what you want, support who you want.

Fish13, i ve never personally been on an integ but i "hear" that they are amongst the top wakeskates (team or pro models) available. there is fatty support for the vertitas, cerimonia, familia company and there is plenty of evidence to back it (ex. Nick Taylor)

(Ryan Lemons) http://www.wakeskating.com/media/showphoto.php?photo=2253&cat=503

However just to give u the other side, some ppl have said that integs are light almost too light. but ya try it before u buy it.

Now for some other suggestions i would recommend any ROC that u feel stoked to support. Personal faves would be Integ, Distortion(grinch), Oak(greasel), Omen(brodeo winner), Tractor/Sattelyte(beaver). do a little research. wood or comp? grip or foam? flat or concave or bi?

welcome to the sport.

SamHill, thank you, im gad you didnt forget L13.

soy escuala, I have one objection to "lasts forever" this summer I know a guy whose board was shot into a dock and was split right down the center, I know it's a little farfetched, but it still happened, the board is FVCKED, but other than that, you're probably right.

Make your own board with glue and wood.
