you might want to ask them about hooking you up w/ it down the road.... that is not a little dial a mile reciever it weighs 70lbs. they also made a 7070 , 8080 and db models w/ dolby and a little more power. most of the ones on ebay come from army folk that brought them back from japan

home stuff doesn't work so well in the vehicle.... usually an impedence load issue. you should talk to your grampa about what he used to play through it.. he'd prolly enjoy sharing.. maybe he used a reel to reel too... those are soooooo sweet.
jesse.. yup the guy i bought it from said he used to run the big klipsch (like the la sala or klipschorn) and would watch the windows in the house bow out

What exactly is that? And both you and Mr. Taylor collect these things? _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

ms. snow.. you'll have to check out http://www.audioreview.com/cat/amplification/receivers/sansui/PRD_118783_1593crx.aspx to fully appreciate the old reciever.
i don't know if jt collects them but i would bet he prolly listened to a few of them... thought he would dig the 1976 reciever that it is... i'm just a retro kinda person i guess.. kinda like my wakeskatin shoes to my surprise.. jeff engen said.. man, those are tight... and w/ nearly 20 years on the guy.... that's a pretty cool compliment |

warlock, That is so bada$$. I'm truly amazed you thought of me ...thanks. Looks to be a 70s vintage. Now heres the kick in the cashews. I have all my stuff from 1972. Interestingly enough some one mentioned their parents got some in Japan. Same deal here...got all my stuff from Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong . Out of memory cuz it's early in the morning Akai GX280DSX Reel to Reel with 3 glass ferrite heads....Kenwood 8340 receiver with a modulator to split signal to 4 channel, JVC ECA 102 reverberator, and four 100 watt Kenwood KL777 speakers and a whole bunch of other stuff that all still works. I'll get some pics. Funny someone else mentioned that their parents/grandparents?(damn I am old) had their records. Oh yeah my turntable...wow! you got me stoked. Anyway when Nick was much younger we would hook all the stuff up & he would listen to everything with me and I do mean everything cuz I appreciate all musical forms. We'd do the ol ...lay down close your eyes with you head between the speaker thing. Oh man I could go on & on but my typing skills are sht. Lucky everyone for that. My humble thanks for posting that. Put a big a$$ smile on my face.
Peace, love, dove, hare krisna, light shows, crash pads, far out & solid...& remember keep it clean huh kids ( said rapidly in an AM disc jockey voice) _________________ If it don't kill you..it ain't bad. If it does..it won't matter. |

electricsnow, It's a receiver/amplifier used for signals hook ups and tings like that. Started late sixties but the Japanese market in the 70s opened up new doors for less money. I don't collect but I have my entire system still. In cluding the hand carved stereo cabinet made in the Philippines. (Mr. Taylor) your respectfullness is matched by your capabilities of monitoring this site with intelligence, courtesy, & professionalism so right back at you with the respect. Again ya'll are lucky I cannot type or you would spend a hll of a lot more time reading my stuff than I can actually put on here. _________________ If it don't kill you..it ain't bad. YEEEEEEEEEAH! i kinda figured you'd know what i was buying... and why. i got SOOO lucky on buying.. well so far, it's going in the mail tomorrow. my uncle has an 8080 db and we have always been on the same page as "audiophiles" he is one and i'm a wanna be anyway... i'm sick of the new style surround sound denon crap i currently own... so i figured i'd go back to true stereo sound... i looked at a kenwood kr-9600 reciever but was a bit out of my range right now... especially if i'm going to redo the speakers situation do you use your reel to reel much??? how do you find music for it?? or can you still?? i would say that would be the component i appreciate.. but don't know near enough about. i guess cause i have no idea where i would get music for it...
anyway.. i'll reply some more.. got a kid yelling in the highchair.. |

warlock, Kids in high chairs...been there , done that, got the tee shirt. Wait until they want a jet ski ( or later in life) maybe just a jet. I'm no audiophile but I used to love the clarity & volume way back. You know the ol flashforwards or something. It's a hoot to see some one so interested. Actually your link on the picture is going to help me out. Take care of that baby fool!!!! There's no icon sooo...( kinda chuckling to myself). Lotsa joy. _________________ If it don't kill you..it ain't bad. If it does..it won't matter. |
