im getting a new board for Xmas im thinking about the 06 catalyst anybody rode one yet?

same as 05, different graphics, green foam, thats it. its a good skate, i like the edges on it, but i wouldnt spend the money on it considering some of the alternatives out right now, or coming out soon.

i wouldnt get it, for the same price you can get boards that are much higher quality.

The 06 catalyst is an awsome board along with the other hyper boards it rides real nice plus its got the green foam so if you plan on riding at night youll be able to see youre board

liquid4ce0069, You should look at the '06 Byerly too, it looks pretty good and it comes standard with grip and a Byerly lock.

actually the shop by me isnt carrying grip tape byerlys, i think hype decided to stay with foam at the last minute.

i dunno i would recommend grubbs skate if u are set on hype. i ride an 05 and i can't complain. also check the byerly cause it looks good with the new gernade graphics. but as u already know a lot of people here support ROC so if u have access to them i would investigate.

well....grubb says that he did something to the edges, i can't remember, that make you cut smoother and faster

There is no difference between the '05 and '06 Catalyst decks except for graphics. With that said, the board rides nice and smooth, but it's rather big. I would suggest checking out the Byerly if you are looking for a general all around skate, as the Catalyst seems to specialize on wake to wake. (duh, its Grubb's board)

As with anything, it all comes down to your preference and what you are looking for.

Chris41, go check out hyperlite.com.....they added this thing called a bevel, it prevents the "edge catch"....and they also added weight Wink

Umm.. both of those were added to the '05... Besides graphics there is nothing different between the '05's and '06's...

The bevel was added in 2005 to both the Catalyst and the Byerly skates.
