Well not actually in it but they were giving it a pretty good once over.Just before I got the first shot the cub was in the tree above the boat looking in, quite interested.Bears are a pretty regular occurence in my yard but that's the first time they showed my boat any interest Laughing

tribal, I live over on Vancouver Island and when I was mowing our lawn one day there was a bear up about a 100 foot tree about 20 feet from me. The tree was at the bottom of a bank so it was actually only about 30 feet above me, but he seemed pretty chill so I kept on mowin'...

Yeah they're normally pretty chill but this was a mom with 2 cubs. The other cub was just off in the woods. The mom was right by my front door when I first saw her and sent the dogs after her. Then I saw the cub in the tree above the boat and called the dogs off.Momma bear= angry mean ass bear.
[/b]Shane Where are you on the island?

Yeah, a mother with cubs is something you don't want to mess with.

I live in Ladysmith, it's between Nanaimo and Duncan (I feel dirty just saying the name of that city).

Hey wanna hook me up with a free hella-lift up around Whistler? Very Happy

Yeah I guess I could have looked under your user name to see where you're from Laughing
I had my boat out on the Gulf Islands a few years ago and passed by Ladysmith, never been in town though.
You ride on the ocean or nearby lake?

When you're a heli ski guide everyone wants a free ride Laughing

Both. I live on the ocean near Ladysmith harbour so we ride just out of that area a bit with a ton of seals who I swear have red eyes. I also ride on Brannen Lake in Nanaimo, it's a really nice place to ride with a prison built on its shorlines. Seriously though, it's almost always calm and the otters there are friendly. Smile

I bet. I've always wanted to give heli-skiing a try with my snowboard, but it's just so expensive.

Dude, they were just eyeing your boat. They're gonna rip you off next weekend if you're not careful. If I've seen it once I've seen it a thousand times. Bears are sick wakeskaters.
