Pretty new to skating and im trying to figure out what the proper stance for different tricks would be. I have no skateboarding background, i never learned to ollie properly (board always shoots behind me), so none of that really applies to me. What i have been doing so far is having my back foot over the fin bolt holes and my front foot about 2/3 of the way up the board for ollies. then for w2w (attempts, end up w2center of wake), i have my feet kind of centered like when riding the wakeboard, just inward of the bolts and slightly ducked. I do the same as w2w for powerslide/lipslide attempts, feels like the symmetry should make it easier to hold.
is this thinking right, or am i doing something wrong? I can ollie maybe 6" on a good pop at the moment but i cannot lock my slides in. |

Norcalz71, your problem for w2w isnt foot placement, its probably your edge. your probably edgeing too fast. just gradually, slowly turn and build up line tension. it feels like your not going to have enough speed but youll quickly gain speed if you keep a slow, steady edge. _________________ I like to choke when my team needs me the most, no Romo. |

your foot placement looks good... but even on waketowake or other stuff keep your backfoot back there on the tail of your deck and your front foot 2/3ds up roughly as you said. You will have an asymetrical stance most of the time _________________
