Has anyone attempted this yet? I just got back from Cabo San Lucas for a skim trip and the thing I kept thinking about is how sick it would be to session a 10 ft perfect glass wave with a ski and a wakeskate. I would try it, but i was wondering if anyone has.

we've been doing that for awhile now. probably about 2 years...whenever the bay is real choppy and we're bored we always head out to the gulf for wakeskate sessions like right on the shore. u can hit liners and stuff too, so it brings surfing into it(which is really cool) so yea, everyone should try it for sure.

10 ft. Wow. We rode some waist high one day. It is so cool being in the ocean and being able to ride and jump the waves. I plan on doing a few tow-ins this season. I'll get back on this one.

thats what Im saying. Like over head barrels or getting towed into the section so you can just boost the biggest airs or throw some really big sprays. When I go back to Cabo Im going to try. Ive gotten into a 9ft barrel with my skim, but I want to see what its like with a wakeskate and if you have a good driver it would be quite sick...

big country, You missed a pretty nice swell this week with that tropical storm. 2-3 ft overhead glass at White Ave. But I guess Cabo would be way sicker... anyways, whenever there's a wave out, we usually do tow-ins unless its way too choppy...

Yeah I skimmed north jetty friday night it was head high right on the beach. Got some of the best waves of my life this past month and have video to prove it.

IF your asking me it is the pacific at Lands end Cabo.. right around the arch is the sea of cortez which is usually really glassy the same with the pacific. I think if someone did a photo shoot down there it would be one to go down in history....trust me doing a kickflip through the arch would be crazy and if anyone has been down there knows what I mean

yeah we did that on a huge reef break when the tide was big during winter down here. But we used wakeboards and I didn't have a skate with me that day :/

the thread is here: http://www.wakeskating.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3945

here is a pic:

But I met a bunch of locals that are used to doing towin at teahupoo for guys like laird hamilton and the like. So these dudes are pros at what they do... I can't wait to hit a reef break with these guys driving the ski... I can already see a big ass front board to shuv out on the lip of a 10 foot wave!!! but seriously that's my goal in life now Very Happy Very Happy

kinda like that:

or even better:

Laughing

Nekkie, you're a trip bra, those pictures are sick. The one with the cruide ship in the back looks surreal.

big country, I saw you at the contest yesterday when all those goddamn 6 yr olds thinkin they're hot sh;t were like goin right in front of you on every wave, I bet that was frustrating... anyways, I was the one announcing most the time. That was the first skim contest I'd ever been to that wasn't on Anna Maria and it was pretty fun...

I hate those contests they have good vibes but they expect us to do demos with no waves so its kind of boring. And the groms charge every wave so you really have to watch out for them....you should have come up and said something to me... We will have to go and ride soon....peace Justin
