What is your worst wakeskating experience ever?

Now is the appropriate time to complain all you want.

Mine:

yesterday. we got 150 feet of combined old waterski ropes and went to Beaver Lake, WA. it is very small, and Im not sure if boats are even allowed on it. My friend swam across, and I used my car to pull him back on his wakeskate. He did fine, but when I pulled the rope back to the edge of the water for my turn, I created a tangled mess. He was freezing his entire body off, so I just grabbed the handle and started swimming.

I was numb after 30 feet, and started feeling all tingly after that.

when I got up, it was too slow, then the huge knot in the rope started to come out a little and then jerked tight again, so the rope went slack and i started to sink, so could do no tricks, and then the rope jerked tight and I tried to do an olay to salvege the run, but just ate it when the rope jerked again.

summary: I was numb and had done nothing but look retarded. next time, I go first so that the next sucker in line can have knots in his rope.

maybe I will post the video if I can get it off the camera.

How about it just started snowing today and its soo fricking cold and i can't even use my wakeskate cause it doesn't have any grip on it right now Evil or Very Mad

And the only other board i got is a skimboard and when i tried that i did the splits cause the wax is really slick on your shoes...im bout to just strap on the old hyperlite wakeboard and give it a go behind the truck

ummm i live in orlando and havent riden in a month, thats the worst, im not hurt, not sick, and for the most part weather has been nice. just got burned out riding sooo much, ill be back out tho as soon as the water gets a lil warmer

i took my friend for the 1st time and he fell getting up. he ripped all the skin off of his knuckles down to the bone and we had to peel it off the grip tape. his hand was mangled

2 summers ago all I wanted was to land a w2w shuv/indy. Finally I landed three in one pull. I was so pumped. The next day I went out with 2 girls and I was like 0 for 7, and on number 8, I landed on the board, thought I was falling but I didn't. Instead I spiral fractured my femur in 2 places. I heard the snap and I was like, man I hope that was the board. I remember looking back and seeing the skate in one piece and my epik floating obscurely behind me. I was like shi.... I told the girls what happened and I swam to the boat and with my girl's help pulled myself up onto the boat; but with no leg support my leg lapped over the stern like a wet noodle. The girls cried and screamed and took me to the closest dock. The crash landing into the dock felt good and an ambulance soon arrived. They stuck the traction up my ass cut of my fav. trunks and epiks. I went to a nearby hospital where I waited to be flown to Baltimore(hopkins). I waited from 12 noon til 4 am. Sucked balls. The best part was the heli ride and the morphine. Finally, came the gas and rod and 4 screws. It was titanium I think, I told them carbon fiber, oh well. I was off my feet for a month, rehab, crutches, pimp daddy cane. That was the worst by far; but dammit if I'm not back out there going big doing the thing I love. Wink

Mine was when I was making fun of a friend because he got a nasty grip tape burn, and I had been skating for almost 7 months without getting one. And OF course my next set I tried a back lip fs shuv out, and fell weird. I got a nasty grip tape burn on my lower back. I still got the scar. Neutral

well, i was having a great day of skating.. skated 3 differnt boats, im on the last boat, bigger wake then im used to, so im doing w2w stuff, grabbed an indy and i screwed up and my back foot slipped off the back of the board and my leg like twisted up behind my head and i pulled my medial ligament, and hurt my groin alittle. i cant wakeskate till spring break... damn it to hell..

seriously, nobody can top mine.

i fell getting up in front of thomas horrell.

i didn't have my feet on the board so it wasnt my fault.. but it was still terrible.

ive had 2 bad experiences on my skate, the first one was wen i first got my skate my first attempt for a wake jump, i went in the air and the wind caught it and took it from my feet and i landed on my shins right on the grip tape. damn it hurt... i still have scars and that had to b 4 or 5 years ago. then another time i was jus doin a graband i came down awkward and then nose went in and i fell into the handle so my arm went in but i stopped wen i hit the water but the boat kept pullin the rope and i tore my bicep. that hurt to, that was the end of my day at lake anna. i hated that day Crying or Very sad

Only one here, I was bored one day so I was riding doubles with my friend. We had my dad slow down to about 16 or 17 and we were gonna try and switch skates while going. Why? I have no clue, but we were that bored that day. It was rough and crowded and we were all worn out. We when we went to switch, we almost had It but my friend fell and I had one foot on each skate. I let go and the skates split, I couldn't get my feet off so its basically like doing the splits to where my legs were not just flat, but up. Finally I got my feet off the skates and I had pulled both groins. Shocked

My friend has to help me back onto the boat because I couldn't use my legs. The next week I had bruises on the insides of my legs and felt extremely stretched out. Ouch Embarassed

This past summer, I was finishing my run with some one footers and I had too much weight on the front of the board. I fell forward and my head hit the nose of the board. I got a minor concussion, but its cool. It was painful though. Now I always cover my head when I fall in front of the board. (reflexes I guess)

well once i went wakeskating and it was super cold and it was warmer when i was moving and i ddint want to fall in caus eit was cold so i just kinda stood there.

then this other time i was real excited to skate and a certain someone forgot the rope....

oh one time i fell down and hit my foot on the board and it hurt really bad.

doesnt compare to everyone elses experiences. but hey

dang i dont think i want to wakeskate anymore after hearing all that stuff.... jk though. but one time i did split my head open because i fell on a lipslide bs 270 out a long time ago with one of the sharp edged hyperlite skates. didnt actually hurt that bad though. just bled like crazy. and i got lucky becuase my neighbor is an ER doctor and she put this glue stuff on my head instead of me having to get staples. yesssss. but that's why i ride wood boards. that, plus the fact that wood is just better....
