I started out with wakeboarding but withing the first year i switched over to wakeskating cuz seeing the freeness and the potential of the sport. All my friends are wakeboards and almost all of them look down on wakeskating as something like tubing thats really not a true watersport. I dont know if u have had this experience but it pisses me off. Plus when ur better then them on a wakeskate then they are at wakeboarding. _________________ www.norcalwake.com |

G-squadriderz, I started wakeboarding to and I switched over as well for the love of this sport... but you have to remember that wakeboarding is still a big part of our sport to... with out wakeboarding wakeskating wouldn't be here, with out the wakeboard tours, wakeskate would never be in the tour.... the list goes on and on... but I have to simpathize(sp?) with you on the part where you get looked down on... I know from hearing what some wakeboarders say about wakeskating, thats its boring, most of the time the wakeboarder has only done it once or twise and probably sucked at it so bad that they got mad the funny thing is alot of skiers who look down on wakeboarding look down on wakeskating even more just because its not as "intense" as skiing
I wouldn't worry about it to much, its going to happen... if they where really your friends they would respect what you do.... If you dont want to take there shizzle than dont ride with them |

Damn Strappers!
It takes more skill to ride a skate, it's more fun to skate, and who wants to be free.... the world does
Nothing like being tied down, it sucks

as somebody who still straps, I resent that, me and all of my friends, even the ones who don't wakeskate respect that it is so much harder to wakeskate, maybe your friends are just dicks _________________ why dont you try playing hide and go Fvck yourself |

Ouch. You guys are cold towards our wakeboarding brethren. I wakeskate 100 percent now, but I still go apeshite when a bro strapped in does something sick. If you want to be pissed at something, be pissed at the wakeboard industry for grossly misrepresenting actual wakeboarders and convincing them/us to buy into it. It's still funny to joke around and say stuff like 'damn strappers' and stuff, but you guys should at least respect that they are doing something they love and aren't directly bothering you about it. If wakeskating is something they don't get, then that's their problem.
I'm going to go hardcore dance now. Happy 2005 bros. _________________

| Same here guys, i started wakeboarding 2003 summer, got soo into it went boarding like 3 times a week in summer and into nov. then stoped, that started again during 2004 summer, around late summer we were out wakeboaring and my friend let us borrow a wakeskate, a old flat cassette, i used, it was AWSOME, landed a shuv my first day, then kept wakeboard for a few weeks, then my other friend took me on his jet ski and i wakeskated, never put my foot in a bindings since, ive been strapp free for probly a 1/2 year now... and its awsome ive progressed so much faster at wakeskating then i did at wakeboaring, i had a thick skateboaring backround so i think that helped a bit. I love wakeskaating now and will never give it up for strapping. |
