Can anyone give me some tips? Just started to ollie this summer. I feel like I can ollie higher by leaning back instead of actually punching my back foot down, is this correct? Should my front foot be higher up? Here are some slowed down clips:

as you progress more, you're probably going to slide that back foot closer to the tail. Whether you push down with your front foot or not, the big thing is you're slamming down your tail and you're going to use your front foot to raise and level the front of the board (by sliding up and kicking forward). you've got smaller ollies down, but you're not quite to the point where your board is closer to vertical after you slam that tail down, and then kicking your front foot forward.

To me, right now, you look more like you're bunny hopping and not ollieing. To get that board higher, you're going to want to adjust your technique.

Thanks esnow! So by adjusting my technique you just mean moving my back foot more towards the tail and kicking down harder? How does my front foot look? Should that be moved more forward?

Your front foot is probably fine, but your back foot could come farther back.

I wrote a reply trying to break it down, but Aaron Reed is better at that than I am, so watch this:
