Winch pond/gap

My freind has a bobcat and just told me he would be down for building a winching pond on is land. Now would 12 foot x 60 foot for a top pool. and 40x 12 for landing pool be large enough? The top pool would be elevated about 4 feet above the bottom pond. Im just wondering because then it would be much easier with the tarp sizes available.

Oh yeah and they would both be 4 feet deep. That way I could get one 20 foot by 100 foot visqueen tarp and cut it for both ponds and would allow for the tarp to follow the side wall of the pond.
