Just wanted to throw this idea out there to see if people thought it was possible. With gas prices being at all time highs, do you think it would be possible to get a lower level kite (not a really powerful one that could pull you ten feet in the air), but one strong enough to pull you across the water at a speed fast enough to wakeskate. I've been thinking about this for a while and it seems doable. The obvious problem is falling and retrieving the board. Anyway, just thought it would make for a good discussion.

Id think it be pretty impossible. For a kite you need wind. Wind causes white caps and rough water. Keeping a wakeskate under your feet would be extremely difficult and retrieving it would suck unless you had like a surfboard leash or something

MattG, Yeah I surf a little and am definitely going to try kiteboarding when and I move to the beach, but I really just like wakeskating the best. I agree thought that kiteboarding equals wind and white caps. Oh well, Se la vi.

they make wakeskate type skates for kiteboarding, they are just a bit bigger and have alot less rocker. using a wakeskate with a kiteboard works but not very well, theres too much drag on the board and too inconsistant of a pull.

Mr. Top Hat, does antwon have one? or does he still kite? i heard he messed up his back..
and kites and all that stuff are really expensive. ive kited using my wakeskate. and it does just what top hat said. its a really inconsistant pull. but if you had a board with almost no rocker it would be fine.
go try it! all you need is water wind and the kite. i did it in my pond in the middle of my neighborhood.

All this talk about kitewakeskating, when we all know that kneeboard wakeskating is where it's at!
And yes, those are pink board shorts.
