I recently found land that has five or six ponds on it. We built our first rail yesterday and I hit it after a couple of tries. I will post up some pictures later. I gotta figure out how to resize em.
There is a dam about three to four feet wide that we can ollie over, haven't tried it yet. We have started building a jump over it. I have been out there at this spot all week killing snakes, weed eating the edges, towing trees out of the middle. Finally got to shred it yesterday.
We plan to have a funbox, incline, kicker, and whatever else.
I'm headed out there now to put in some work. Is there a easier way to pound the 2x4's in the ground. It was fraacking hard as hell being in the water and all. I was standing on our saw horses in the water.

We built the frame to the funbox yesterday, I'll have some pics later this week. Should we make it a floater or anchor it down with posts?

Woah, that place looks awesome. Good find.
As far as rails/boxes go, I'd recommend putting them on posts in the ground whenever you can. Floating stuff can quickly turn in to an engineering nightmare and posts in the ground are always much more sturdy.

I'll definitely try that on the next rail or box. The hardest part is being above the post to beat it in. All I have is a canoe, not very sturdy..

awesome spot, try screwing some 2x4s to the bottom of a ladder like it was on skis so it wont sink in the mud, then stand on the ladder and pound the posts

Just a suggestion but if u plan on building more and more rails out there I would build a floating pier to work from. We build off of one that 8ftx16ft. It makes driving posts much easier and you can use power tools with a generator on the floating pier. Throw sum trex down one side of it and you've got a sixteen ft flat bar/box. Place looks sick!

The owner of the land is a friend. It was his idea. He only rides a wakeboard. His grandfather owns the land, but now he is thinking of setting up a system 2.0. We plan to have it up next spring. What's nice about the ponds is that they were built like thirty years ago, so they are in good condition (not very muddy) A bunch of snakes though.

Thanks, I haven't been able to get out there in the last couple of weeks, school is taking all of my time. This spot is about a forty minute drive from where I live. The floating pier is a great idea. I have been looking for some old pontoons, but no luck yet.
