well with the association of "Bros" generating more attention to the frat culture, we are slowly returning to the underground culture that we have been (action sports community) and I think its a good and bad thing

look at it this way

fuel tvs (original programming) appealed to a small portion of its demographic
the kids that ride and the kids that dont
so now they are realizing that the kids that dont are a larger demographic , easier to manipulate (like the mtv mentality- we tell you whats cool) vs the kids that do ride and form opinions based on their particular interest

my guess is that its easier to get a bunch of mindless duchebags to agree to wear tapout shirts than it is to get skaters / bmx / surfers and snowboarders to agree on one particular sponsor /brand/ mentality

we are all to individual
and when the pacsun consumer base is fueling your company and not the small local skateshop kids you have to make a decision on how your going to make your money

sucks to see it happen

maybe im wrong but thats just my 2c on the change
besides i dont even have fuel tv anymore , i havent for 2 years
but i doubt ive missed anything

When I worked at a bar Fuel Tv was on all TVs and everyone loved it. Haven't really watched since then that was a little over a year ago now.

"but i got no dick, don't you know what its like to not be funny, i got no dick"

lets go over the good and bad shows
good shows- built to shred, props, american misfits, firsthand, captain and casey, danny and dingo

bad shows- crustys dirt demons, ellis mania, bruce lee lives (WTF), thrillbillies

- you no fuels fvcked when there are more motocross shows then skateboarding,

-the best daily habit was nick taylor and hist trampboarding phenomenon

POPTART I'd bet this is a $$$$ decision and not a demographics decision.

No idea what's going on behind the scenes, but the wake footage that used to be on Fuel seems to be appearing on Versus and NBC instead. Sure, the footage airing on NBC will be edited to better fit the format of the show (or appease title sponsors), but that may be a necessary evil if you want the sport to be seen by 1000x more viewers. I think we can all agree that a little growth and $$$ in the industry would be welcome. Heck, when was the last time someone brought up ROC on here?

We tried getting MTM on FuelTV and they told me they are more focused on "narrative content" and are getting rid of "trick based content."

I don't really see how a bunch of muscle heads beating the crap out of each other meets that criteria?

how exactly dose the $$ not directly stem from the demographic?

more tapout stuff sold at walmart = more ufc on fuel

it has everything to do with the fact that the demographic is more non riding people that spend their money back with the companies paying for the programming and advertising

bummer. i guess its like a band you like changing their music in order to profit from their work rather than continue to play shows to 20 fans.

kinda backs up the idea that they took a good look at who is paying them and who is watching

and figured they could make it more appealing to that broader base than those of us that fit the hyper niche and just want to watch the art form of other peoples riding

sad

anyone remember blue tourch tv?
on foxsportsnetwork
with michelle tweeden
same thing happened to them before it was cancelled

dirtyohioriver22, danny and the dingo is horrible... they don't get paid by fuel, Monster pays fuel to put Danny and the Dingo on..

TV is a weird & crazy industry.. and even though "action sports" are big, i don't think they are big enough to have a channel.. maybe alli will step up and make something good...

correction: Leeann tweeden, so hott!! fuel definitely blows nowadays. props is cool, but the little host guy is a huge douche. pull, props, insane cinema, and captain and casey were/are my favorites. seriously, the footy on c&c was always amazing. i don't knock anyone for wanting to turn a profit; however, there are many more outlets for moto, mma, and other crap shows that fuel now airs. we need something like street league for wakeskating. indoors, few stops across the country, two tower system, flats tricks, rails, drops. maybe the maloof bros. will help us out one day.

I don't get Fuel on my cable but I'm glad they are playing some old school kung fu movies, those haven't been on tv for years and they have some real classics in their line up.
