Here's a few shots from The Liquid Playground's 'Afterdark' gallery. Austin is gonna be taking many of these photos/displays down so customers can actually buy stuff, so I shot a few pics for those that couldn't make it to the gallery.
I was really blown away by all the support that Austin got from the photographers and riders. Many of the boards that were on display were sent in by the riders themselves, and one or two of the boards were ridden in the exact shoot that the photo was taken during.

Garrett Cortese
Jason Lee / Shaun Murray's and Anthony Hollick's decks

There's more I'll post tomorrow. Until then there's a few extra shots on The Liquid Playground's facebook page. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

scott a huge thanks!!
AWATTS! Amazing job. I bet it was as much fun as it was stressful at times. Totally worth the effort. The old 4trac brought back a couple really great memories Each worn spot is engraved in my mind.
What's next? An esnow sponsored gallery? snow, Maybe just fill up however many PODS you need, 5 or 6 , insure em and have them sent out to Cali
BRAVO! ENCORE! _________________ thrashdad.com |

Here's a few more...
Each photographer's section featured a short bio of the photographer and a short description of each shot. For a few of the more memorable boards there was also a description of the board itself, and electricsnow was kind enough to provide the words for the Cassette shots.
| electricsnow wrote: | | The bi-level is the last major innovative design from Cassette wakeskates. It's also one of the last boards with any mystery attached to it. The anticipation for this wakeskate was out of control. Riders wondered how it looked, functioned, and how it rode. Then in July/August of 2004 Cassette hit us with an ad featuring a silhouetted Thomas Horrell and a bi-level, and then a few more questions were answered. A couple months later, this image of Thomas and Reed at a Tampa wakeskate demo circulated on the internet. It showed Reed on his bi-level, boosting this massive inside out ollie behind a PWC. After that, many of us were sold. Love it or hate it, the bottom line is that no other wakeskate brand has caused that much excitement over a new design. |
| electricsnow wrote: | | The Cassette 4-trac is easily one of the most iconic wakeskates to date. How did this happen to a piece of wood? To start, Thomas Horrell, Aaron Reed and Danny Hampson ripped the water to shreds with their 4-tracs in Sfumato, the second Cassette team video. For the most nostalgic of wakeskaters, that probably has something to do with it. Add in that stunning green hue that makes the 4-trac distinct and identifiable from any angle, and it quickly becomes a favorite board for those who never even had the chance to ride it. |
And another

the graphic was screened upside down on some of those boards. it would look weird to display that board nose up but with the graphic upside down. Or I think so at any rate.
I was psyched that austin asked me to write stuff about those boards! both cassette and those two board models are wakeskating "things" that I hold near and dear to my heart. And this first gallery showing looked bad ass! austin, if you ever do a history of wake gallery, I've got cool boards and what not. the hardest part would be getting that stuff over there. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Thanks a million you guys! Everyone-photographers for the amazing work, the riders for donating/shipping their boards, family and friends for the help setting it up, and all the people who came out to see it! Love you all.
Ill be keeping it up all week if anybody else wants to stop by before I transform most of my shop back to an actual "pro-shop". The gallery room will be up forever tho and seems to be modified each week. _________________ Love Life
