it's the first known photo of a surfer. that doesn't mean it's the first known surfer. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow i understand that, but because he was in the photo i thought i would say that the birth of the growth of surfing came be the exposure of the idea
did tony alva and stacy paralta invent skating? no
but their photos birthed inspiration for everyone
thats all im saying
without the exposure this would have been some hipster Polynesian
more interested in the birth of the photography/cinematography of it all
what is the first know photo of wakeskating?
anyone? _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

I'm not trying to start an argument and I misinterpreted your "sparking" comment. I get that visuals are important because they inspire...but even if nobody's taking photos or "inspiring," people are still going to do what they want to do...which is probably ride their own way (generally uninfluenced). _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com*

I think what electricsnow is saying, is that it's a sweet photo, but probably didn't have any remarkable influence in the history of surfing... and there's probably other people who we should be thanking for those sparks... Duke Kahanamoku FTW
Super bad ass photo though, I'd love to try that board out _________________ √ |
