do you want wakeskating to stay small with not many people who actually skate a lot, or do you want it to get big?

i personally want it to get big enough to where almost everyone knows about, but it isn't so big where that there are a bunch of posers like skateboarding is.

i guess to compare ith another sport, i want it to be a little smaller than wakeboarding is now

i dont think posers will be a big prob. i guess maybe if kids are like oh yeah i can do all this shat and blah blah and b/c u dont go out riding with them u wont know and its not like they can just show u. but i want the sport to be big, not sold out. for example i would love to make a living wakeskating everyday and have sponsors pay for tours across america and stuff. if the sport stays small you wont see that. also who cares how many kids are hardcore or not posers. ithink as of now people wakeskatin are into it for themselves and if the sport got big we could say we helped that and w/o all of us on here and out riding this sport wouldnt be shat. also dave could maybe retire and ride more b/c his site would be so valueable.

Why does it seem like everyone on here is so selfish? Not everyone will agree, but I would think that the majority of people who wakeskate do it because they enjoy it and have fun doing it. Why would you want to keep that from the rest of the world?

Wakeskating will go in the direction that the people who do it push it in. There is no stopping it's growth. As with everything in life, comes pros and cons. An example of this would be the pro riders being able to make a living off of it, and tours that are paid for. A con would be having posers, but there's posers for everything. Only time will tell, and the only thing we, the riders, can do is help guide it along its way in the direction that we see best.

My $.02

Posers will exist, but we will eventually have to declare ourselves "core" to publicly separate ourselves from them and be known as an original wakeskater from when it was fun, not cool; which is as looked-down upon as being a poser... Sad it happened to wakeboarding

make it big who cares. about posers? If you rip then your going to be looked up to wakeskating has drastically fallen short when it comes to promoting new riders, you always see the same guys doing the same $hit, but if wakeskating gets bigger it will open up everything for everyone. sure i hate to see it sell out but as long as WE DONT then theres nothing to worry about. but then again i sail around in a ship and drink rum from a barrel so what do i know? Cool

PIRATE, i totally agree.
che blanc, yeah exactly, if u keep this sport small it will never stay around because lets face, if u wanna get good u have to ride amap and to do that u cant have a job, so wakeskating will have to be your job.
also we all can say we got into it for the sport not because everyone is doing it, we all are originators
