I've got to back it because it's in wisconsin. But I don't think it's all that lame. For me it's all about having a different visual appeal with some cranberry slayshes, and of course promoting the versatility of a winch. And that is all very red bull...they always try to do something different with their athletes, and they've for sure done cool stuff with wake (some obviously more cool or "impactful" than others).

electricsnow, Agreed, but with all the time, money, and effort red bull has put into the sport you think they would come up with something a little better with the cranberry field idea (its still called a field right?) than a wakeboarder doing a few slayshes.

sprocket america, yes, the shots were pretty cool and the spot has potential if... you got a little creative with it. stop trying to start internet fights.

you guys take all this stuff way too seriously. I was just messing with him because of how defensive he (and now you) get because of what other people post. It's just the internet, get over it and go press some boards or something.

actually, alot of my post are positive.
i just think redbull had a lack in imagination with this one.
red bull has done alot for the sport, and has some of the gnarliest ideas.
that spot seriously deserved more than a couple soul slashes.
that spot would have been awesome for a wakeskater.

My impression is that this is more of a regional production and not so much of a big time stunt. Who's the guy that was wakeboarding? I dont' even know, but I assume he's probably from the area (maybe minnesota or something). That said, I'm not really freaking out over this "waste" of money and effort. Straight up, it's a little web vid that displays the versatility of a winch and a bit of interesting cinema. Sure, it's not groundbreaking, but it can still affect people, and I'd be amazed if anyone on here turned down a session with a red bull winch, even if it was little more than winching a little pond.

edit: that dude is from minnesota. I don't know if he's a rep or a rider, but here's a site that has some of his redbull winch sessions on a snowboard and a wakeboard. http://joshtranby.com/

i liked the piece, it might have been a little long, i could see as an intro to one of justin stephens movies. cool, not progressive really, but it reminded me of riding powder on my snowboard.

I used to wakeskate in a cranberry bog near my house when I first got a winch. It was perfect because it was 500 feet long exactly how long my winch rope was. Glad the farmer never showed up when we were there he probably would have shot us Laughing
