i cant believe they are still showing that. I couldn't believe it when I saw a guy dieing on tv. I personally think that it's disrespectful to him and his family to still have this available to watch. _________________

Men are starting where the women typically start, and the women will start where the juniors usually start. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

scott a, they changed some of the ice profiles on the track as well, and of course they put up that wall where those beams were once exposed.
I watched the luge event last night on TV and it was pretty much like miller said; almost all of the rails ended their run at the speed that that georgian guy was killed at. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

thats so freakin sad. Guy prob trained most of his life for this and this happens, why do they keep making the courses faster and faster, that just seems more unsafe. Poor guy, poor family, that crash was brutal. Wouldnt be suprised if he died on impact... 88 mph... omg... most car accidents at that speed there arnt to many survivors.. |

electricsnow, interesting. None of that extra stuff was mentioned on the European feed I was watching on my computer. I can't stand listening to the overly dramatic NBC idiots anymore. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

I can't believe that the metal posts weren't padded, especially at a part of the track where guys are at their top speeds. Very sad for someone to die so young that was definitely preventable. |

The president of Georgia-
"They said that what happened yesterday was because of human error. Well, with all due respect . . . one thing I know for sure, that no sports mistake is supposed to lead to a death."
A luger should NEVER be able to get out of the track, and what the chickity china the chinese chicken were those gigantic columns doing there in the first place? What really bugs me is it took them less than a day to put up a wall on the turn that killed him. I saw it when they showed it on TV, I couldn't believe it. |

scott a, I had heard that on NBC's coverage last night.
And I agree. Padding isn't going to do too much at 90 mph. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

I was thinking that about the pillars too... why dont they have some sort of wall there so at least can he could have just slid down it and eventually stopped with possibly a broken bone or 2 at most. This is just crazy. |

scott a, It's better than having just the columns to get twisted up on. It's like how we cover the support poles on our rails with plywood sometimes so our legs and arms don't get caught and snap. I'd rather fall 30' and land on a sheet of metal than fall 30' towards metal beams one foot wide and a couple feet apart and risk not clearing between them and getting racked. |

The thing is that you never really think about that stuff until something bad happens.. if this never would of happened no one would of ever said anything about it. Its just terrible something like this had to happen for them to realize to make it safer. |
