(insert name), I'm 5"10 and 39" decks don't seem too short to me. They feel real nice, actually. BUT...I'm 190lbs, so they don't always float me as well as I'd prefer. If you're below 170lbs, I would think that a 39" would work for you. But a lot of this is personal preference and each board will ride a bit differently, so I would try and ride a few different boards (if that's possible) so you can see what they feel like. _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

5'10, 180 (107cm, 42 inch board), as they say it all about preference, try lots of boards. _________________ Juggling while wakeskating.
