iam 28 still living at home. it sucks and i want out. Rent is very expensive for apts in my area and i work part time and get paid 14.50 an hour. I pay rent at my parents house and do chores and shizzle like that. I own my own truck thats paid off and pay for my auto insurance, internet and cell phone myself also. I do my own laundry and pay for some of the food I eat. I don't consider myself some deadbeat loser living with my parents doing nothing for them. But its a little depressing living when i want out on my own. I mean theres chicks i want to hit on and i dont want to because of living here with mom and pop ya know. Iam saving money and with the plunging economy theres very little advantages to improve. I can't get full time ethier because of sales at my job. I dont have any friends that i would want to move out with because of certain reasons. I like to party in all but everyday? I know iam not alone. My parents are not the type of parents like most who give there kids money to get a boost on life. I always pay for my own shizzle. I get some negative comments from friends and i always think to myself "lets see where they would be if there parents didnt give them money or sent them to school. Ya know? chickity china the chinese chicken them. Iam trying to move out and save. Should i feel bad? 28 I wanted to be out a long time ago.

Get a loan and go get a degree. You can still work your part time job...

I cant even imagine living with my parents and im 21.... havnt lived with them since i was 18. Best advice i can lend you is to find a serious g/f you could live with, that cuts your expenses in half. Thats what im doing. Its worked great. My rent is only 250 a month. Although we are getting a new place next month and its gunna be alot nicer, but gunna cost me a good 200+ more bux a month, but well worth it. Good luck man.

Eff those guys that make fun of you man... don't worry about people that put you down, they just do that to make themselves feel better...

Do what you gotta do man, but don't expect the world to throw you a bone, because this economy is the sucks.

Also, you have to have the right mindset, because thats really what this life boils down to...

The best advice I can give you is to suck on that tit as absolutely long as possible. I've lived on my own since I was 18 and all I got for graduating was a high five from my parents. I have paid for everything I have ever had. Stay at home as long as possible and never move out. Hell, when your parents kick the bucket inherit the house and have big partys and mad bitches over. Yeah, you might be 50 but who gives a shizzle.

Or the other choice is to quit crying and lower your standards of living. I could live off 14.95 an hour part time.

SkateSessions81,
If you want to get out on your own you are going to have to find a roommate. Thats the best way to start your life away from your parents and be able to afford it. Be sure to find a stable roomy, not one that moves around a lot.
No one says you have to party all the time, do what you want to do.

Its sounds as though you got your life together.
If your unsure about your employment then you may put off moving out until the economy picks up. You speak of a few women, don't they have a home you could go to?
There is nothing wrong with being honest about your situation and if some woman gives you any crap about it then she may not be worthy.
Life isn't easy and no one said it would be. We all have to start some where and at times it doesn't work out and we end up back where we started.

I am in the same boat. I just finished getting my second bachelors degree. My parents helped with my first but the second was all on me. Parents are the most valuable resource and treasures a person has. There is nothing wrong with parents helping their kids out as long as the kids aren't taking advantage of them, which it most definitely sounds like you aren't. As a matter of fact, some parents enjoy having their kids around the house to help out and to give them company after so many years of not being alone, not all but some. The drastic change to their lifestyle and the company they are used to having can cause many ill effects.

I don't feel like I am a burden or hinderance to my folks in the least bit. I don't plan on being here for the rest of my life by no means, but until I am able to get on my feet and not live in an unsafe and dangerous place, my parents are more than happy to give me a place to lay my head at night.
