Ditch skating in Stockton, CA. (video!)

This is the first time I've rode in a ditch and probably my 7th riding a wakeskate.

Warning, don't expect any sick tricks in this video. I tried a few shuvs but couldn’t land them. It felt awkward skating the ditch since you're always being pulled to the shore, but I'm sure I’ll figure it out after a few more attempts.

I was pretty bored yesterday and I wanted to skate. So I called up a couple of my gamer geek friends who spend entirely too much time indoors and got them to pull me in a canal.

I built a "tower" to help keep the rope from dragging on the bank. It cost me 15 bucks for the "ski" rope, 11 bucks for the towing straps to brace the pallet and about 3 dollars for a 2x4. Money well spent imo.

vance, Pretty clean. the water moves fast so it's not all stagnent and gross. It's diverted from a river. and no, you weren't the only one who died laughin. I work with that guy, and the people here at my job who watched it died laughing too.

2- Trust me, if I had known how shallow it was, I would have jumped in differently.

3- Its really not a problem for me...I'm just starting out...that water was moving fast so I didn't want the board to get swept away. Even if it did I could buy another one. I have lots of money and buy all the best gear, even though I'm not good at any of this stuff.
