For once, I actually kind of agree with dylo. Labeling a tennis court with NO TENNIS signs would only be the same as labeling a skate park with NO SKATING signs. And that doesn't happen. Ever. What does happen is places that skaters would like to skate are marked as no skating because they were not built for the purpose of skateboarding. And I can guarantee that if tennis players went to the middle of downtown, set up a net and started hitting balls around it wouldn't take long for police to come and "harass" them about it. _________________

POPTART, that is a much better example. I love when they start walking all of a sudden because a cop drives by. _________________

We take our kids to the local skate park all the time. The cops make a presence by doing drive bys and coming in, but they never bother anybody except people skating without a helmet. That rule is pretty strictly enforced. But other than that, alot of the kids know them and say hi, most of the parents there hanging out will chat with them, and they are always in good spirits and smiling when they enter the park. I wish more people could say that about their local PD. _________________

edrex, consider yourself lucky
and i feel like cali has a totally different outlook on skating in general in contrast to the other 51 non skater friendly states ( i lived ther e 2 years and no one ever said one word to me about skatine anywhere) _________________ https://vimeo.com/moontowerco |

POPTART, totally agree by what i see on the net that skaters arent treated well. the no running is a much better example
although i dont really agree that you should be treated well when skating on private property. if anyone goes on private property unauthorised, its trespassing. but hell if your skating on the streets there is nothing wrong with it. |
