A true loss for the wakeskating industry!

Integrity is consistency between one's actions, values, methods, measures and principles. A value system's depth and breadth may also be significant factors due to their consistency with a wider range of observations. People are said to have integrity to the extent that they behave according to the values, beliefs and principles they claim to hold. One's value system may evolve over time while retaining integrity if inconsistencies are accounted for and resolved.

Hypocrisy results when one part of a value system is demonstrably at odds with another and the person or group of people holding those values fails to account for the discrepancy. Hypocrisy is considered to be the opposite of integrity.

I have been away on vacation and when I came back to see the thread about missing skates. I was sad for those people who lost their skates. I have had things stolen from be before and it sucks.

However, I am shocked to see people who own businesses and riders/professional athletes representing their own image so poorly. I represent numerous of athletes in the Action Sports Industry and was just blown away by the immaturity and lack of judgement on people who may or may not give two $hits about their image.

I also would like to say that no matter what happens to you. If you are someone who is even remotely personified in the public's eye. You should care about what you say even if it's on a stupid forum website. I have had nothing to do with the company integrity good or bad. But for an owner/employee to come on a website and call someone a "Deusche Bag" is uncalled for and very immature. This just makes me sad and more sad for the sports of wakeskating and wakeboarding as a whole. I know the industry is small. However, it's no wonder they are no longer in the x-games or big media covered events. When you have people (Industry Business Owners/Professional Athletes) behaving like this even on a stupid website forum. I can say without a doubt, that no matter how crummy business' is in the wakeboarding industry. Bob Archer and Herb O'Brien are not going to be on WW posting responses to perhaps disgruntled customers or punk kids. It just makes me have that much less respect for a company in the Action Sports Industry(and I apologize for even comparing Bob Archer and Herb O'Brien to you. Sorry Herb and Bob).

For the responses that I saw from so many "professional" athletes. I am glad I do not represent you. You should be worried about far greater things than someone hurting your feelings on a website forum. This is just pathetic and makes me feel bad for wakeskating industry. The sole wakeskater I do represent does not post things on here that are degrading and demeaning to other people. Even if it is deserved.

Sorry to be the dad(or just professional businessman) of the site. But I was just blown away by the lack of judgement / immaturity and felt compelled to voice my opinion on a public forum!

i disagree with some parts, schmaltz had some right to say what he said, all the heart that he puts in to integrity and doing it with only one or two more people.. i cant begin to think what erich is going through. all the people that are obsessed with his boards and what he does is too high to keep track of, the guys one of my heros. for someone to disrespect him like that is the most ridiculous thing i have seen in a very long time. he puts his life into Integrity, nobody should ever try and attack Schmaltz for doing what he does.

I think this whole situation was blown WAY out of proportion, the kid was just cracking a joke, Schmaltz called him a douche bag, who cares, its the freakin internet. Integrity isnt going to sell any less boards because Schmaltz called some kid who cracked a joke a douche bag... i mean honestly. Get over it... EVERYONE. wakeskate drama is retarded. Timmy Treadwell, It's seems evident that you have know clue about what Erich Schmaltz represents as a person. It's the same as what he tries to convey with his companies, always has been. He has very strong ideals/beliefs and is not afraid to voice them.
Not everyone wants to be the next FMX at the xgheymes. Not everyone wants to make a billion dollars off the sport they love. You may be surprised, but there are some of us who DONT want this sport to grow into a huge money making train ride only to be left for dead when the money stops.
I grew up skating during the late 80's through mid 90's. Before the "real" money was involved. Anyone from that time knows where I'm coming from. We as skaters were the dregs of society. Now its the complete opposite. And I blame corporate marketing machines and Tony Hawk Laughing

Anyway, back on track. Erich has always been against the "establishment" I think the Kris Markovich/Mutiny add sums it up perfect. If you don't know what I'm talking about then your probably the type of person that the add was directed at.

Honestly, your the type of people destroying so called action sports. This so called "image" you speak of doesn't fit with a lot of us and never will. Corporate America will never "get it" Confused
