Bigger Engine Help

Ok I'm upgrading to a bigger engine right now I have a 6.5 briggs but I weigh and 195 and I'm 6'5, and friend I ride with weighs 200 and hes 6'4. So all we were getting was about a 17mph pull and no deep water starts. So I was thinking about selling this engine and going for a bigger engine...8-10 hp, but wondering which manufactuer I should go with ...Briggs...Honda... Robin Subaru ....I wanna stay away from knock offs,so only legit manufactured company engines. Just let me know ...and thanks in advance for any help.

Tecumseh has a boss 8hp with a rtv throttle control so you could add a twist grip throttle for easy speed adjustment. check it out

Ive got that same engine. pulls a 235 pounder on a 38 wakeskate no prob.
