The Ninja, the width of a tire can give you a phenominal amount of traction. I really dont know about speed performance, but i know handling can greatly increase with the size and width of a tire.

The Ninja, Light weight wheels actually make your car ALOT faster. also gives you better breaking.

width actually helps out more then anything.

say you have a RWD car and you're running no name brand gay 18x8 rear wheels with 225/40/18 tires and you're pushing 400hp at the wheels, you can't hook up, you're burning threw all your gears up to 4th and you're pissed cause youre girlfriend's laughing at you for running on pizza cutters.

so you buy some nice JDM 3 peice rims, say you run with some work vs-kf's that are 18x11 in the back with a nice fat offset, so you roll your fenders and stretch some 275/40/18's on that beast. now not only does your car hook up and you shave 3 seconds on your 1/4 mile times... you look sexy as hell. and now you're chicks stoked.

thats how rims = performance Cool

for every pound your rim weighs, is like adding 4 pounds to your car. and that applys to each wheel. trust me it adds up!

soy escuala, actually if you would build a plain steel rim in the size of an aluminium wheel, the steel one will always be lighter and stronger (hence the characteristics of those two materials). so that is straight bullshít. the only advantage you get by using aluminium or magnesium is the stiffness of the wheel. that's what improves the handling (and the looks).
in fact there are some more factors to that equation but i'm just to fücking lazy right now to point em out...
