Looks like ill get the spool and frame done tomorrow night. still need to get a keyway machined for my jackshaft. |

all my parts will be in tuesday.
motor gets here monday.
picking up my frame and spool saturday. SO STOKED.

how wide are you making your spool? The frame looks like it could be a lil narrower. Great start though. Keep at it. |

same here. Its not that big of a deal. It only makes it heavier and uses more steel. |

I'm happy to report that all my parts have arrived and my build will probably consume most of my weekend.
Looks like there's alot of winch progress going on this weekend. Should make for an action packed next week! |

spool is going to be 12 inches wide... that angle in the picture makes it look really skinny..

unless you want to hold 10000feet of tope, 12 inches is not necessary. The wide spool auctually makes the pull a little worse in my experiences. This is because the rope tends to build up in one spot and then the rope skips to a lower spot on the spool and jerks the rider. Rethink the width of the spool Id say.

my spool is 8in ID, 12in Outer wall, and 4.5in wide. |

14 inch side walls. 6 inch inner diameter. 4 inches wide. Holds 800 feet with way plenty of room to spare. |
