Just finished installing this speaker set, and man they sound so much nicer than I expected! Really easy installation. All plug and play. The amp plugs directly into my iPod. That little box bolted to the outside is the corded remote with power and volume. I don't know why more people don't do this!

Thanks man. Yeah I got them for $109 plus shipping. Here is the website. http://www.dwgspeakers.com/. It comes as a complete set. The price is more on the site now, but I think they still have the discount price on eBay if you search for them. I'll let you know how they are once I get them on the water tomorrow! |

It took a good amount of the day. But I worked on and off and took a couple trips to home depot for nuts and bolts. The only extra thing I had to buy was a 6ft double RCA extension cord to make the speaker wires reach the amp. Overall a really easy installation apart from drilling the holes right. No wires to splice or anything.
Oh yeah, Lousy Hero, they are pretty damn loud and clear for their size. Definitely a more filling sound than I expected. I haven't taken them out on the water yet, but I will tomorrow, and I'll let you know how loud they are with the wind noise and motor. |

my dry compartment isnt rly big enough for the amp, but i def want some of these..do you think it will be a bad thing if i mounted the amp in the front compartment of the ski and ran the wires? is it a big deal if the top side of the ski has holes drilled through and sealed? (this is the first watercraft anyone in my family has owned but my brother works and a body shop and is familiar with wiring and patching fiberglass) _________________ if theres no future in it, at least theres a present worth remembering.

Well I just got back and they worked perfectly on the lake. They sound great, and can be heard over the engine and stuff for everyone on the ski at speed. Then I could hear them sitting in the water from far away after a fall, but I don't remember if I could hear them when I was skating, maybe a little. Maybe more if we cranked it up. I was too focused on trying to do kickflips haha. Which are still hard as nuts, but getting closer. It's definitely nice when you're driving though. A lot less boring.
I don't know how they would handle jumping wakes because I don't do that haha. We did have to cross a good amount of the lake today and it was choppy due to a lot of people, and they sounded fine romping through that stuff.
I'll let you guys know how they hold up throughout the year. But I don't expect them to die. |
