the nick taylor rail, although this weekend I had some trouble with mine not sticking into the ass water lake mud where I have been riding, but in sand or most places that is the bees knees.

Yea Im thinking of building the nick taylor or similar style rail. I found everything I need but I have a couple questions. 1. where is that old nick taylor rail thread, 2. what length and width of trex deck is best and what side do you want on top, I think I remeber the grain side on top is the best. 3. I could only find 10' length post with the screws for flange mounts for underneath the rail. They were expensive and the bigger the pole the higher the price. What is the best size for the pole(1"1.5",2") and would only 3 10 footers be alright for a 12' flatbar? Are these in the pics only 1/2", and if so is that strong enough???
Sorry I couldn't find that old thread, but I had saved some old pics on my computer.

i don't think strength is that big of a concern. if they are all pounded into the ground several feet it shouldn't matter what size pole u use. (I'm assuming this, I have never actually built one)

can someone who knows about this rail help out - or point me to that old thread. I want to build this thing for less than 100$ if possible. What I priced at Home depot would be probably close to $200 if I use the bigger poles....
