This is the 15,000 post in the general wakeskating forum. Woo hoo. O yea, and to make it about wakeskating, I think we should discuss why wakeskating is so great.

I think wakeskating is so great when its perfect glass out and you cut out and do a bs butterslide and just glide over the water, seeing you're own reflection.

I think its the accessibility factor. It doesn't matter whether you ride behind a Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition or a 1967 Misty River Tin Boat with a 15hp Evinrude motor, your trick variations and ability to have fun is the same. This is why wakeskating will be bigger than wakeboarding.

Patrick is right. Normal people without that much money (IE: Me) will have trouble advancing in wakeboarding considering all the boat equipment (pylons, Fatsacs, etc.) and the kind of boat you need to do very well. I've seen guys wakeskating in videos on small wakes or big wakes, and they do the same tricks.

i like it because wakeboardings for jocks and skateboardings for posers. wakeskating is for major punks like me who resist authority

And I'm betting that soon, we'll have to deal with a lot of posers, just like skateboarding did and still has to. There's guys at my school that don't even have a boat and I mentioned something about wakeskating and wakeboarding and they were like, "Oh yeah I do that" Tell me we don't have posers...

skateboarding is for posers? hmmm. are you calling me a poser? who are skateboarders posing exactly? although there is a bit of originality in wakeskating, isn't wakeskating posing skateboarding only on water? now what, punk!

ignore my last post. just think of it as being rhetorical. i just don't want this topic to turn bad.

anyway, wakeskating is awesome. i love the fun you have with your mates amping each other to do new tricks and progressing. i love the feeling of stomping a new trick. there's just so much unexplored territory waiting to be discovered.
