Now I'm not one of those "anti-hyperlite" guys or anything, in fact I ride a 2003 hype skate, but thats not to say that I'm one of those "Catalyst or Gate" guys either. However, while bored at work I was surfing not only this site but liquidforce.com. cassettewakeskates.com and hyperlite.com. In the news section on the hype website I was reading the update from the latest tour stop. I know people often debate on here about who had their hands in the origins of our sport, but as this article would indicate, it sounds like the Hyperlite team is just catching onto the latest craze.
"Sunday's action also included the finals in the up-and-coming sport of wakeskating, which more closely resembles skateboarding because a rider's feet are not mounted to the board."
To me this is ridiculous, anyone visiting the hyperlite website is mostly likely in the know about wakeskating as a sport. I don't understand why they have dumbed this down to mainstream level. And what an accurate description of how it all works, who would have thunk the riders feet weren't attached to the board.
Oh well, it looks like soon we'll have the Teen Choice Awards with a wakeskate theme, cause I hear flowered boardshorts and surfing is out now. |

| if you can explain wakeskating to people who just starting to wakeboard/wakeskate or see what it is like, go ahead and try, but if have never really heard of either one it is hard to fathom and picture |

| i get what your saying, but that was most likely copied from somewhere. most all of those competition wrap-ups are all the same, one guy writes it, and i see the same thing all over different sites like here, prowakeboardtour.com, wakeworld, etc. even if it came straight from hyperlite, it deffinitely wasnt anyone remotetly involved with what their all about. personally i hate hype skates and how they ride, but they know whats up, their not stupid. |

eighteenvisions, Youre right, even if you dont like the skates you cant hate the company. Theyve been with the sport since the start. They have Grubb as well, and hate him or love him he's pretty sick on a skate. _________________ Bonzo goes to Bitburg and goes out for a cup of tea. |
