| will i drink and think about getting behind the wheel of a car...last night on my way home from a party i lost control of my car and i went off the road and hit a street sign going probaby 65 mph...so scary, my car is pretty much totaled. had to wake my parents up and tell them about it when i got home. looking back i really could have died last night and im soooo thankful right now that im alive. i hit the sign on the passenger half of my front end if i would have hit it on the drivers side the winshield probably hit me in the face because it caved in on the other side... life = precious |

That's crazy man and I'm glad you are okay. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but let me say this. In the coming weeks/months/years you'll have a different perspective on life. What is really important. I know this because Paul (uidzero) and I were in a plane crash back in 2001. We crashed in the gulf of mexico off the coast of Cedar Key. We survived, how freaking lucky. I can't say that it changed who we are, but it enhanced our lives. Made the sweet, much sweeter, and the bad, not seem that bad considering the alternative. Our situation was out of our control, yours on the other hand was within your control. Learn from it and don't make that same decision next time. You're very lucky, use it.
Sorry to ramble, been a long night _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

true story. 4 seater cesna plane and it literally flipped wing over wing (cartwheels) 6-8 times before it landed upside down. The lucky part I referenced above is the tide was out, and after the plane stopped flipping we just happened to land with the tail on a slightly exposed oyster bar. i.e. we didn't drown. The EMT's who came to our aid that day said many people have crashed and died in the same place we crashed. It just so happened that the tide was out when we crashed.
Also, wear your seatbelt! We were all wearing ours. Seems like the OP of this thread had his on too, or else he wouldn't have been here to post this. _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

taku, WOW. that's super lucky.
i was on a commercial flight from houston to seattle. sitting behind the right wing, and all of a sudden we hear "BOOM." the right engine blew up, and we ended up making an emergency landing in salt lake city after about 45 mins of flight with one engine. was a real sketchy situation, but its kind of strange how you can come to grips with everything when you realize that your life is no longer in your hands and temporarily in someone else's. _________________ north jones |
