|
|
| Been winching almost daily, hitting a rail, and john boat, etc. but i like to try flatwater tricks behind the winch too. I was riding behind a ski the other day, and was landing three shuvs in the flats quite consistently. I've been trying them every time we ride behind the winch now and havn't got one really even close. I can't figure it out, i either spin it and jump over it, or just not even come close, its driving me nuts! Any ideas? |

it's weird behind the winch b/c you don't get the slack-pause to get that extra second you need to slay a big fish....like the 3 shuv.
what u gotta do is throw that joker out in front of you way further than you think. You gotta get low and keep the board in front of you, i had the same problem. Good luck _________________ dbanana wrote:

i know shes a beach like that but i love her, also my spool needs work, line kinda builds up and hops off gives for a jerky ride, but thats another story.
ill give that a shot,
you think throwing it on edge would help any? my buddy seems to think so but he hasn't landed one yet either, well over the bench but not just flats. |

i'd say flatten off, not on edge. maybe move your front foot back.....and your back foot all the way back and almost have your toes hanging over your toeside edge a bit to really get some leverage to throw that whore. i like to edge out then flatten off, get low and throw it big. _________________ dbanana wrote:

mostly just jumping over it, i can spin it every time, and even if im too far over or back i try and stomp it at least get my feet on it, gonna go get on it thursday before work.
I think footplacement might be it too, i had my back foot way back almost on the corner/edge and front foot pretty far left when i was landing them behind the ski. |

| I still have yet to land 3 shuvs but I was getting my feet on em every time when I rode boat last, behind the winch I've never come close. |
