It was the summer of 1787. The Constitutional Convention was about to take place in Philadelphia. And George Washington, the former commander-in-chief of the Continental Army was planning to stay at home in Mount Vernon. Only after hearing the compelling call of the people was he persuaded to make the trip.

And how could he not? Not only did Washington attend the convention, but he later accepted the calls to be our first president.

This was not a job that George Washington asked for. But the times called for a strong, wise person to lead our infant nation. And his pride in his country and his devotion to civic virtue left him no choice.

And now it is 2008. Politicians repeatedly ignore the Constitution and reject the principles of our founding fathers. We are a nation clamoring for leadership not from another politician, but from a statesman. We do not yearn for trivial soundbites and empty rhetoric, but for truth and wisdom and understanding.

Can there be any doubt that Ron Paul is who this country needs? A man of the utmost integrity and a man of humility. But most importantly, a man with the right ideas - of tolerance, of love, of freedom, and - of course - of the people.

I'm voting for him in the primaries on January 29th!

He won the South Carolina debates by a landslide and he's in the top 3 candidates for raising money 4th quarter last year too. Only Obama and Clinton raised the same amount (20million).

Anyways http://www.myspace.com/ronpaul2008

Also just youtube Ron Paul and you'll see all kinds of videos that are really inspiring. Makes me feel good about voting... like we aren't hopeless.

i dont know THAT much about him. but from what i've seen and heard, he seems like he has great ideas and lots of integrity and good intentions, but he does not really seem like a guy that could run the united states of america. he seems like he should be a professor or something.

What angers me is how the mainstream media foe the most part is not covering him. It is deliberate of course. Go to his web page and you'll see all the stories. Jay Leno had him on just because he heard of how Paul's campaign is being largely ignored. All the news stations only refer to the top 3 or so candidates in each party. Paul often ranks just behind. It's sad because I honestly think the majority of america honestly only goes with what they see on hear for the majority. They figure,... Well since it's probably gonna be "clinton" or "obama" then I'll just choose between them. They don't bother to look just a little further and see the other candiadates not that much farther back who have better ideas and aren't followed because they aren't senators and aren't chosen by the majority.

All I gotta say is, maybe Ron Paul has a couple ideas I'm not into, but abolishing the IRS, eliminating the Income tax, ending the federal reserve and regaining control back of our own money are reasons I will vote for him and no one else. Plus he wants to focus of domestic policy and let foreign affairs settle for a while. Quit being the worlds police. Hell yeah.

THANK YOU.

Don't settle for Huckabee or Guliani or whoever is on the news right now, look into a few of the candidates policies and see who you think should be calling the shots.

I'm pretty sure Guliani thinks bush is doing a good job.

Seriously though, over all, anyone that has the money and power to become president of the USA is probably a piece of garbage.

If that is seriously a pre-requisite to the presidency then our gov't sucks ass. But I knew that already. "Viva La revolution"

kornhouse, Don't even get me started on the corruption thats taken over the voting system we have. It's been publicy stated that it has flaws and can be manipulated. Simple statement. Simple solution right? Nope, nothing done.

The only thing I can do is place my vote and encourage others to place theirs... A huge problem I see if people say they love what RP stands for but they dont want to "waste" their vote because he "wont" get elected. But if everyon who wanted him to win would vote for him well...HOPE FOR AMERICA

If a miracle occurs and he picks up the nomination I would bet alot of money he'd beat out any democrat regardless of how bad GW has smeared republicans.
