Wakeskating.com is trying to help spread the word about a ladies clinc in DFW with Stef Tor. Just in case you don't check the front page too often, here's a link to some more info.

http://www.wakeskating.com/showarticle.php?a=595

For all the gals out there, Stef was in WI for a maven session this past june, so I can definitely say that you'll have a great time and feel the positive vibes. And straight up, she'll work hard to help you learn what you want. There were two girls who had never gotten up on a wakeboard (at my clinic) and she and the other stef made sure they got up and rode for a bit before they hopped back in the boat.

nice post, gnarly. I mean really.

Jeff, I'd be down there in a heartbeat, for sure. For that maven thing I drove like 3.5 hours one way...luckily my brother lives in that area, so I had a place to layover. And stef is a fun person so it would be a good time on the boat, for sure.

electricsnow, thanks for posting this and thanks to WS.com for their support. You mentioned how far you drove for the Maven clinic...I'd do the same. There is one girl potentially coming from IL for this, which is way too cool.

Stef is really excited about this. We now have 17 riders booked for this event.

Saturday: 2 spots remaining
Sunday: 7 spots remaining

I encourage everyone that may be on the fence to book now. We are 2 weeks out from the event...we loved to get this thing sold out for Stef!!!

Contact me if you have any questions and thanks for helping make this event successful!

amazing. that girl from illinois is owning me (or potentially so). You should never have said that. Laughing

Seriously though, I used to drive all over the state for the wakeboarding bus tours (and sometimes little comps), so when those kind of faded away (including the LFTAA) I was kind of bummed. So to have the maven sessions in WI at all was cool and there was no way I'd miss it. And it just so happened to work out that it was the week right after nationals, so that worked out perfectly.

Anyway, good luck with your event! It's just cool that you organized something like this.

yes, spooner. I've been there on a visit, but I didn't actually ride or anything. It's very beautiful up there, for sure. I just think the northwoods of wisconsin is beautiful, especially the drive from Minneapolis to our cabin (which is just south of hurley), so you go through the Chequamegon national forest and it's insanely beautiful.

Anyway, we're like north east from there (spooner)--just south of hurley, or north of mercer (which are two small ass towns, so it's not like it matters anyway). I love it up there. Nobody rides on my lake...nobody even owns a wakeboard. If anybody rides, they slalom ski or ride kneeboards from like 1990. But one guy has an airplane. It's cool. Here's a sunset 'sette...We had some beauts on our week vacay at the beginning of august and I dig sunsets...they remind me of the good days in the middle of winter when it's dark at 5 pm (and in general, is all around sucky). Plus I really love the profile of the cassette bi-level. These shots seem cliche at this point, but I love them anyway.

but the subject is about your clinic, and I'm good at inadvertently de-railing things. So forget I even said this. Shocked

Alright ladies...the clinic is only a few days away. There are still 5 spots available on Sunday for those interested.

All registered attendees have rec'd their confirmation mails with time identified.

A few bits of information about the event location:

Parking Logistics: There is an abundance of parking at the Lake Worth Boat and Ski club.

What should you bring?
-Your life vest
-Wakeboard and bindings/wakeskate if you have your board it is recommended you learn on your equipment. Liquid Force has sent their demo package for riders to check out and that will be available for use.
-Good Attitude!!! You are at a learning event and your attitude is important. Come ready to have fun and ready to ride with Stef Tor.

Refreshments: Coolers are prohibited as the club has available for purchase: water, beer, and soda. Additionally, Monster will be onsite from 12 - 2 providing samples of Monster energy drink. The boat will have a full stock of water for during your session.

Signing in for the event: Please plan to come 45 minutes prior to your scheduled ride. This ensures you have an opportunity to sign in for the event and keeps the timing of each session on schedule for you and other riders!

Guests in the boat: If you have a friend, significant other, and or parent that would like to ride with you during your session; it is permitted. Guests will be required to sign a waiver form and are limited to 1 person per rider.

In case of in climate weather: The sessions will continue unless there is lightening visible. The boat is equipped with a bimini and there will be tents along the shoreline.

Activities through-out the day: We will have several raffles going on during each day with opportunities for you to win!!!
-Saturday Evening, H20 Clothing, is hosting a meet and greet for Stef with drinks and dinner.

And lastly, directions to the event, click on the attached link and use the drive to function to get driving directions directly from your front door!

http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?addr=4001%20Marina%20Drive&csz=76135

Thank you again for your involvement in this event. We hope you have a great time and encourage your friends to come and watch!!!

Here is a link to the pictures from the Women of Wake Clinic Featuring Stef Tor: (it is a forum so you will have to register for a free membership to view the pictures)

http://forums.wakeoutlaws.com/index.php?automodule=gallery&req=si&img=4080

Stef instructed 27 '30 minute' sessions over a 2 day timeframe for women on both wakeboarding and wakeskating. There were only a few of us wakeskaters BUT...Cherie landed her a clean shuv it and now I can really pop my ollies and do a "REAL" lipslide not my lame ones anymore!!! Smile

A BIG thank you to Wakeskating.com for publicizing this event!!! The wakeskaters at our clinic learned of this weekend through your site!!! Also, Stef said this was the first time any of her friends new where she was for once!!! Shout out to Kevin C. for keeping her company on her sidekick!
