|
|
I wanna see more heelside trough tricks done. It seems like almost all of the trough tricks you see gettin thrown are on the toeside of the wake. It would be rad to see some kickflip, backside flips, back bigs, tre flips, etc. done on the heelside trough. I know its gotta be way harder because you are forced into more of a full rotation but it sure would look good. Was riding with llongneck the other day and he was tryin kickey's and back bigs that way and they looked so sick. Didn't land any that set, he said it was so hard. Must be because he has both of those tricks dialed in the frontside trough. Like in skating for instance. Say a regular footer is doing bs flips over a pyramid hip. If they're hitting the hip from frontside( the easy way), the rotation doesn't need to be a full 180 because they're going with the grain. But if they do it from the backside( the hard way), they have to fully rotate because they are going against the grain so to speak.
So I wanna know, who out there in the wakeskate world has a good arsenal of stuff on that side of the trough?

| Classy, Le Jalapeno, What's confusing you? Does it make more sense if I say lip/wake instead of trough? Everyone has a frontside lip/wake( your toeside of the wake if you're going w2w), and everybody has a backside lip/wake( your heelside of the wake). Whenever you see footage of people using the lip for flips or shuvs, most of the time it's on their frontside. I wanna see some more done on the backside side of the wake |

| twgapk, thanks man, you just reminded me of the nug in my truck. But besides that, whats that have to do with my post. I know it may be confusing , just use your fingers or fingerboard and mouse pad or something as a pretend wake and see the motions of the tricks on each sid of the wake. |

feelnjstfine, I agree completely. the heelside wake doesnt get very much love. Ive always worked on backside (or heelside) wake tricks. It's a challenge but it makes it that much more fun.
Where i surf at most all of the breaks are best suited for regular foot riders (right hand breaks), so since i am goofy I had to learn to adjust to it. _________________ integrity-wake.com | chriscut.com |

The backside wake is a riot. I pretty much only have backside re-entry ollies and shuvs, but there is a smattering of people who have other such maneuvers, like backside 180s, bigspins and things of that nature. Backside ollies are one of the coolest feeling tricks...
Thomas has some sweet backside re-entry stuff in narla--switch 3 shuv and some ollies. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Heelside trough = backside reentry.
Stuart Shinn and Travis Doran kick ass at backside reentry.
Go watch Esoteric and watch Dave Hansons backside reentry kickflip, it's my favorite I've seen. _________________ √ |

Man, I thought he had one but I've also seen riders that are at the base of the wake and do more of a flats kickflip so i didn't want to say anything because I couldn't remember "for the record."
Oh, I just thought of another--matt manzari in issue 4 in the bonus section--I think it's a backside re-entry varial flip...something like that. COP IT! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| I guess trough's a bad way to describe it. I really guess I mean using the transition of the wake like a quarter. My bad. |
