88skisupreme, no. that article has absolutely nothing to do with wearing a lifejacket. thats like me posting an article of an airplane crash and then saying always wear a parachute.

it says the kid was at the surface but he sunk and died possibly because of an injury. He should have wore a life jacket. Always wear a life jacket when you drive a car into a lake.

88skisupreme, actually, if the kid did wear a life jacket it might have made it harder for him to escape out of the car and he would have died an even quicker death.

Mr. Top Hat, the car didnt have a roof. so wearing a life jacket probably would have saved his life.

but your post made me laugh for like 2 minutes. Laughing

I don't know, I feel like for my sensibility, 88skisupreme melted the cold ice around my heart with this sound advice: always wear a life jacket when you drive a car into a lake.

But I also appreciate Mr. Top hat's first analogy.

However, now that I've read the news article, 88skisupreme's advice is really just the moral of the story (per Margie Martinez, spokeswoman for the Weld County Sheriff's Department).

That is super sad!!! Those dudes probably got concussions and broke their arms and faces and died a horribly painful and scary death.

They probably didn't anticipate that driving a car into water at 35 MPH is pretty much the same as driving into a brick wall.

That sucks.... getting knocked out underwater is no way to die.

Not wearing ur life vest while out on the water is stupid. My uncle was skiing, and he wasnt wearing a vest. He wrecked and was knocked out. He drowned. So Mr. Top Hat, if u feel like risking ur life for no reason, then be my guest. Say hi to my uncle for me.

WAKEMan1, this is true, but now adays, some of the vest people where wouldnt even float you, such as the gooru... its more like a puffy shirt then a vest. I can tell you right now if u were laying face down, knocked out, you would stay there, and continue to breathe water and probly die quickly, same as if u were to have no vest on face down in the water. But non the less, i would rather ware a vest, unless its really shallow water then i dont mind being vestless.
